Hi Model Fanaddict 2.0. Nice job on the model, and for having the patience to put in all those fiber optics. My only problem with this lighting solution is the 4 hyperdrive engines between the main 3 sublight engines aren't blue...they're white. Otherwise this looks really good.

Hello Etergeste, I recommend painting and weathering before drilling holes and running the fibers. Thanks for viewing

Why to rub off the paint and scratch it? Paint and weathering last thing you do! My opinion each own way!

@Elemental Entity what about fixing the fibers, paint it, weather it and at the end cut and trim the fibers?

Hello Marty, I haven't checked in on this particular video in a while. I bought the Russian Zvezda kit because at the time, the Revell kit was smaller. Eventually, before Revell went bankrupt and was bought out by a German outfit, they acquired the rights to the Zvezda molds, and began to market the bigger kit under their own brand name.

Do you do commission work on the side? I have the same model that needs to be put together

Hi Demo, I just used regular Elmers glue. Unfortunately hurricane Michael destroyed my home town and a tornado touched down in my parking lot and threw cars into the buildings like toothpicks. I lost most of my models and wont be building for a while

Finally it’s nice to see somebody getting the actual light color correct by adding a little bit of a blue tint to it But still a little too bright , in the movies I don’t think the bridge had that many lighted windows. The underneath cargo bay looks perfect along with your rear engines perfectly lit

Excellent and very informative video. I bought the same kits with lights and thanks to you now I have a wealth of info on what to expect and how to sort things out. Just a question... If I wanted to fully paint the kit, with airbrush and enamel washes, how would you do it? should I do it all before the fiber works, or after lighting? Maybe if I coat everything perfectly with satin varnish It won´t get to the fibers, will it?

Zvezda model kit is the brand? Is it cheaper, is that why you got it from Russia?\

Can these be covered in transparent yellow paint to give the lights a different color effect?
