I challenged LilAggy to this DLC Elden Ring PvP Race

I challenged LilAggy to a unique Elden Ring DLC race where we started at level one and got as OP as we could in 1 hour, then we fought each other in PvP. The funny thing is that the Tooth Whip is actually quite a strong pvp weapon. The poison is great for pressure and buff procs, plus it has great range and true combos.

​@drac109 Yeh, I really don't understand a lot of this comment section. Tooth whip is so toxic in pvp, it's not a meme weapon. I think most people probably don't play pvp so think because whips suck in pve that they also suck in pvp.

@@blackzero1956 yeah but thats the problem, it sucks in pve. if aggy had time for full build plus an actual main weapon then it would be great, but instead he got stuck fighting bosses with a +8 whip and down so many levels on chris. Aggy's biggest mistake imo though was just not getting a better PvE weapon for bosses like chris did, couldve easily gotten great katana or backhand blades to fight lion, gaius, hippo, messmer etc for runes and then used those runes to upgrade his weapon to +10

next time maybe it would make it better if after 1 round of match, players would given a chance to explore the map again for 30 minutes, and then go for round 2, and then do that again for the final round so the build would change hence making the players guessed-countering the other player's build each round (essentially giving the sense of early game > mid game > late game build)

yea ngl 2 thrusting weapons with cold attunements plus smithscript shield is crazy💀 but then again tooth whip is actually really good in pvp too from what i can tell and it was more about aggy not picking up a better pve weapon so that he could actually kill bosses so his biggest issue was being underleveled. Still made for a great video though and i agree that its better aggy lost so we got to see both him AND parky doing the scene, you can just tell chris knew exactly what scene he wanted when he said remake a video game cutscene lmao

The funny thing about the "cringe" cutscene is that with the context of the game's story, Aggy and Parky basically did what Tidus and Yuna were doing. Forcing themselves to fake laugh and embarrassing themselves in front of everyone, which ended up turning into real laughter.

PVE players experiencing PVP is _fascinating_ to witness. The floundering, the realisation that FromSoft P2P latency amplifies hitbox jank, and the panic rolls are all so nostalgic (coming from someone who did their first invasion in 2020 DS3 lmao). I remember every emotion y'all expressed in this one, and my jaw hurts from smiling so much. 😁 Also Aggy might've bluffed cringing, but they were having a great time in that stakes scene. He puts on a good show, but I guarantee you he's far from unhappy in times like that!

The end was so wholesome. That was the whole meaning behind the scene of yuna and tidus. Their journey is gonna be hard and full of tough choices, so they tried to learn how to cheer up each other even in bad times. First the fake laugh which is so awkward that they have to laugh for real. FFX has awesome Story and characters, thx Chris for choosing that. Hopefully those 2 will play the game together one day, I just can recommend it to everyone ❤

All I do in FROM games is PvP and my favorite off meta pick from the DLC is the tooth whip. Nice to see it getting some love! If he knew to crouch R1 more and that on low poise an r1 combos into weapon art he'd have clutched up.

The whips isn't really off meta though ? It's a really strong pvp weapon countered by hyper armor so at lower levels it's probably the 3rd best low level weapon.

@@Mizuraka4437 Off-meta means it's not a meta pick. It's outclassed by most DLC weapons save for the ghostflame options. All it has is range and 2 ways to combo. Meta picks from the DLC are the new greatspears, pata, backhand blade (despite being on every ban list), and the rest of the situational weapons are more useful menu swaps. It gets no hyper, Can't win any trades, only breaks poise below 80(ish) so anybody running a normal amount of poise can trade with any move you throw out. It's just fun that they put Witches Locks in elden ring.

A lot of PvP is control over the character itself, so yeah a lot of stuff translates for sure. It's mainly just knowledge from knowing what's good and matchup knowledge, and then maybe a little of PvP specific tech

If you ever do another one of these for DLC, consider Claws Of Night (the ones that you get from the invader right before Metyr), they are actual peak cancer in PvP. Slap on Blessed Blue Dew, Smithscript Talisman and maybe Two-Headed Turtle Talisman and you can just outrange and spam the ash of war for free ranged blood buildup and insane poise damage that will stagger through most armors on each hit

The claws of night AoW doesn’t actually do much poise damage, it always headshots because there are so many projectiles and headshots poise break even on phantom hits so that’s even more busted, you can counter it with crucible knot tali or pumpkin head tho

I feel like being lazy in these challenge runs is Aggy's kryptonite. The whip actually slapped in the pvp part, but man was too lazy to get the Great Katana or Backhand Blades for the pve part. A lot of the randomzer bingos he loses this way too bc he's too lazy to memorize all the good weapon pickup spots.
