I can give you a couple helpful hints. The first is all my lathes & screw jacks usually come with a coating on the threaded rods. This is to prevent rusting etc. while a product sits in a warehouse or is being shipped in a sustainer. It is like a shellac and makes everything hard to turn. I wipe it off with low odor mineral spirits. If you want the machine to crank easy apply a grease called SUPER LUBE. It is clear like dielectric grease so you won't get your hands dirty as other greases will. It is non-toxic and is used on food processing machines as well. I have not tried eating any yet.🍕. It is also a great dielectric grease. Most big box stores carry it by order only. I am always in a hurry and know most ACE hardware's stock it. Here is a link: www.acehardware.com/departments/automotive-rv-and-marine/fluids-and-lubrication/automotive-lubrication-greases/8138323 As to the socket key I would sacrifice a 3/8" drive socket and tack weld it on. Not much force so just a couple of spots. I would use impact type since I don't like welding chrome stuff. I read all your posts so I know you probably have a welder. I am also a Kobalt nut like yourself. Keep up the great videos.👌👀.

GatorWing Never heard of that grease but definitely will be getting some. Thanks for that great advise! Will be doing that for my lift.

@@starastronomer Super Lube is also available in smaller tubes at a lower price. I just purchase the grease gun size tube and put it on with a popsicle style stick or syringe. Super Lube is a high pressure lubricant with Teflon or PTE (I think that's how it is listed). Back to the asylum for me💡👀

GatorWing I ordered this from Amazon yesterday: www.amazon.com/dp/B0083R1FME/ref=twister_B08G1X1XNB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I decided to get it in the "tub" as it would be easier to use.

Dn NOT put grease on the screw. Did you ever hear the expression “sand in the grease”? Spray it with PB Blaster and wipe the excess off. That’s it. No grease. It will get contaminated.

Great video. I bought the same one. Just about to take it out and assemble it. Does suck with the socket head trying to strip out with impact driver. Wondering if it would happen using a less powered drill.

Thank you! Not sure if that would help but you could give it a try. I stick with manually doing it

You’re suppose to use a variable speed drill for that not an impact driver. I use my 1/2” Dewalt drill and it works fantastic.

I actually did go to my Kobalt drill.

Could you measure the distance from the from vertical post screw mechanism to the center of where the front wheels rest into the wheel holders? I’m looking at this unit, but I have a front brush guard on my JD X-584. Not sure I have enough room to drive unto it. Thanks...

Northarrow100 I got a chance to check it out. Approx 15"??? I did a rough measurement without my tractor on it. Really depends on how low the tractor has a part hanging down as the lift has a protruding angle piece on it.

@@starastronomer thanks... with 15” I can’t get my tractor on it. I need 17”...
