Yeah, I listened to a recent interview with Kimi where she said she never set out to be a singer and assumed that she was just filling in till Starbenders found someone else to sing. Which surprised me, as Kimi has such a great rock voice.

I don't know where to begin! This music video was absolutely incredible! The way the video began by showing a hallway and then panning to a dark lit room where the musicians played really set the tone! The next part was the lead singers voice. I also loved the words of the song, it made me feel the meaning of the music. Overall the production quality was outstanding! 10/10 :)

Damn, this is a great tune... love the low-key, laid back guitar textures in the verses - like waiting for sunrise in some dive bar on the edges of a swamp - and then you guys really crank it up in that chorus, setting fire to the clouds with those stellar riffs and vocals! The stuff of beauty!

TL;DR if anyone actually sees this: I had quite a night, and something of an awakening listening to this song for the first time a few weeks ago, and I use far too many words expressing my gratitude at discovering this awesome band while at a crossroads in my life. If this doesn't interest you by the second paragraph, I'd skip it if I were you. No judgement, I 100% would understand. I know this video is four years old now, and as usual I'm late to the party and nobody's gonna be looking at the comments probably. But if anyone from the band juuuuuuusst so happens to stumble across this at some point, I just want you to know that I've been severely chemically depressed so fucking long that it became my normal sometime in my early 30's, and meds have never, ever really done much about it. I feel like a black-and-white character lingering on the edge of a world full of rich, vibrant color. Or to put it in terms that perhaps better fit with me writing this below a music video, I feel like a sad, slow trombone just dragging out low notes and being drowned out by a 20's style swing band on meth. Just, flat and devoid of the peaks and valleys that make life feel like an experience, rather than a jail sentence to get through. But about three weeks ago this song just happened to pop up in my Discover Weekly on Spotify that I don't listen to so much normally these days, and despite being the type that has to hear a song several times before I start to enjoy it, when this started playing I began feeling some shit welling up deep from my chest, almost in my guts, and before the second chorus started, I don't know if I went manic for a little while or something but I started bawling, but at the same time I was smiling and feeling so incredibly uplifted. More excited by a song in my 40's than, I dunno, probably the first time I heard Cowboys From Hell by my all-time faves Pantera twenty five years ago as a pimply, greasy haired and painfully awkward teenager who only came alive during a guitar riff with some groove to it that only Dimebag Darrell could uniquely produce. I can't play guitar for shit, but I was rocking out so hard playing air guitar that first time, and honestly several more times since then, that my poor dog got anxious and started howling and peed on the floor, since she's never seen me like that in her life. My eyes were so cloudy with tears from simultaneously crying and laughing I could barely make my way to the door to let her outside. I still don't really understand what happened, but I guess, for a little while anyway, I had a mental breakdown. I cried on and off for hours. I found out that night you can literally run out of tears, and just dry cry. I cried for the mom who kept a two feet long piece of this thick garden hose around, for those days when she needed to take her disappointment in her lot in life out on someone. I cried for the stepdad who had this heavy black nightstick that he said he stole from a cop (which was bullshit, he bought it at the swap meet and he knew I knew it) and since he used to be a pitcher for a little while in the minor leagues could fling that nightstick so hard, even twenty or thirty feet away and in between Coors Lights and with a perpetually lit Camel Filtered in his mouth, he could decide whether he wanted to leave a red welt on your back, or a dark blue and green bone bruise on your thigh, or put your arm in a cast. Maybe on a special occasion like getting caught drinking, again, at work and getting fired, again, and made fun of by a factory full of rednecks he would just give you a couple pops in the eye and tear your cornea and make you wear an eyepatch for months, across the entire summer and fall so no baseball or football for you that year, or ever again. But like I said, during all of this turmoil stirring in me I was smiling and sometimes laughing too, like all the stuff I couldn't forgive just, I'm not sure how to describe it but it all just sort of looked different to me then. Or no, it's more like I was watching my perception of the past warp almost right before my eyes, in real time. The past didn't change, but maybe I did. It felt like what an expression I've never fully understood the meaning of, "shrugging it off", actually means. Looking at it now, I think I completely understand what that means now. Of course, it all came back a little since that night, because obviously mental stuff like that doesn't cure itself overnight, but far less intense and easier to manage. Years can't be fixed in hours, regardless of how wondrously visceral and deep a connection music can make with a person. Oh, and back around the beginning of February I caught COVID at my job, before anyone knew what it was, and after a couple weeks in the hospital and some lingering effects from it even today, man did I need a boost. Since that night this song came on and broke me for a night, that's exactly what I got, a boost that has helped me become the living example of the expression "Fuck it." Because, fuck it. Things happen, then they get better. I forgot that for awhile, and the raw power of this song reminded me of that, somehow. I realize how odd all of this must read, and this is only going to make that worse, but I kind of feel like I fell in love that night, not with a person, and not even just with this song, but with newly rediscovered optimism, or with a more positive and progressive state of mind, it's so hard to describe for me. I started writing again a week and a half ago, for the first time in almost two decades. I suppose that's why I sat down for a couple minutes to write this silly little comment that I felt so compelled to write and ended up spending two hours plus writing and editing (Ha, what editing?) this, whatever it is. I've literally never written anything like this before in my life, and I've definitely never written, or even attempted to write what I can only describe as a bloated, incredibly sappy and unforgivably verbose fan letter to any band ever. It just isn't me despite my lifelong love of music, or so I thought. I've now finally, mercifully reached a point of deep reluctance to actually post this, so I'm going to wrap it up at least, before I decide whether this goes to the recycle bin or not. To get to my point, thank you for writing this seemingly normal, yet inexplicably magical piece of art that for a little while became the soundtrack to the apex of my crisis and, I think and hope, my rebirth. Plus since I first stumbled upon this gem I've done a deep dive on you guys and man, it is a crime against humanity that you all aren't headlining an intercontinental stadium tour. I guess nobody is now, but you know what I mean. You've really perfected that old school cock rock sound, and I'm a fan for life now. Also, my profuse apologies for the length of this if someone somehow managed to make it to the end. What can I say? I was inspired, and just had to let my brain run with it to get it out and clear my head a bit. Sadly, this was the result of me paring it down, and no I'm not kidding. Hemingway, I am not.

Hello, I wanted to thank you for this comment. The thing is: I've felt more and more depressed recently and I cannot figure out why. I've never had a though time in my life and everything is going great, even with all the crap 2020 has been bringing. This comment has given me hope that I may defeat that scary little parasite in my brain sometime in the close or distant future. All the best to you and your future. Sayonara! Shadow

Might not mean much but KISS saved the life of this then 13 year old suicidal kid. Music has that power. I have always said arts only point is to illicit emotion. Positive or negative that’s it’s job. BTW Cowboys From Hell was a life changer for a lot of us.
