What an inspiration, the power of focus, through implementing the 1 page transformational agenda, suggested by his friend, michael dell on a bike ride was great! The power of peer to peer collaberation transcends so many management attributes no matter where you are in your career.

That quote seemed so strange and business-schooly, (we are business people serving coffee, the implication being that it's about profit and a good business model) that I felt like it couldn't be Howard's. It wasn't lol.. he said: 'We've never been in the coffee business serving people, we've always been in the people business serving coffee.' Perfectly normal that a YT commenter makes a mistake but a bit weird that this channel liked it. Maybe pay more attention to what your speakers are saying.. or perhaps some social media person runs the channel.

@@RJYounglingTricking Exactly, and thumbs up from Kenya, RJ Youngling! I always admired how Howard Schultz spoke as a leader (hopefully I'm not fooled by the cover of the book) and he always emphasized that Starbucks is about people i.e the hospitality. I definitely felt that difference when I lived near two coffee shops in the US. In one (unnamed) shop, the servers were slightly rude. In Starbucks, they remembered your name and made you feel at home! Starbucks coffee was a bit more expensive, and the shop slightly further down the road, but I went there because that hospitality started my day off right.

I feel and see it already- I am manifesting all these!

Here in Brazil, as a "coffee country", we drink 8, 9 or even 10 cups of coffee per day, we like the "old school coffee", that one you do at home, so to make some profit in Brazil, they had to keep the prices down, so here in Brazil, Starbucks is acutally cheap! I've drank some cups of coffee in a Starbucks in Manchester, I actually liked the coffee, a little expensive, but it was relatively good but I also drank a cup of coffee in London, and I didn't like at all!
@EvaGreenFanPennyDreadful
@EvaGreenFanPennyDreadful 7 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter what the prices are. If people are willing to pay for it, then you have a market. Anyway, you're not just "buying a coffee". You're buying the Starbucks experience, which for certain people, means "warmth" and 'community" and "routine". If I take the exact contents ina Starbucks coffee and dump it into a plastic cup, and sell it to a Starbucks customer, they won't buy it.

How nice it is that this man Howard Schultz was allowed his God given rights as an American in order to become successful. Success is more than $. As a victim of 22 yrs of ongoing Technological Torture in America I take great exception to his making money at my life's expense. Morally and ethically Mr. Schultz has an obligation. With more money comes more responsibility. Where has this man been for 22 yrs while his customers use my body as a human target to put their name on a claim? And the two eyes in my head say they spend it at Starbucks In Washington they voted $30. per year license tabs. But I estimate they spend at least $6,000. per yr at Starbucks. Howard who supplie(d)s a tremendous amount of retail franchises must use the roads considerably to his profitable business benefit. So why didn't Howard Schultz who has been SO successful, tell the WA ST Gov their response "you just won't get your roads paved" after the Tim Eyman initiative was unacceptable? No wonder you were successful. You partake in the practice of niggaring and I am convinced that is the only way to prosper in America these days. Who in the hell do you think you are, Jesus Christ, you must have a horrible Tea complexity. Now. Stop this crime. P. S. Ask the new CEO from Microsoft how are the customers paying? Fictitious money? And how much money from license tabs in WA goes towards small business?
