Now that I finished my semester of college, I realize how dire coffee is since I would stay up at night to study. I used to drink whatever was offered, but I want to invest time in finding my liking. Any recommendations on where to start?

I try a LOT of coffees because that is just a part of my job. I personally find that I needed to try different roasts, blends, single origins and regions to find my favorites. My personal FAV is Sumatra "medium dark roast" and/or Indonesian blended coffees. But you might prefer Colombian "blond roast".
