Looking forward to see how that lens does with Christmas lights. For me, holiday displays are the only time I like to see "stars" on lights.

That is interesting, Leon! I enjoy starbursts but I can understand how not everyone likes them.

Great job! I am a big fan of starbursts. I had hoped to get some while in Edinburgh, but the city streets where I stayed were littered with cabling for the trams. it just wasn't pretty. Ugh. But Chattanooga looks beautiful!

Hi Phil! I like sunstars too! Your photos were beautiful. I just ordered the NiSi 15mm f/4 lens from B&H for that reason. It’s on sale for $399. I’ve wanted this lens ever since I saw Hudson Henry’s video on it and the beautiful sunstars it produces.

Nice! I’ll have to look into that lens.

Phil your photos are beautiful! I have been wanting a lens that does beautiful sun stars for a long time I’m not crazy about the Nikon 14 to 30 sun stars. But I’m also not crazy about a manual focus lens, so for Nikon do you have any other recommendations?

Hi Karen! I have heard that the 20mm f1/8 f mount Nikon lens has great stars but I don't have any personal experience with it.

Love the starburst effects (I use the ‘Lens Light’ App on my iPad to add light, sun & lens flares) & really enjoy watching the behind the scenes making of your photos. I have what I hope isn’t too dumb a question: I too have just bought the Canon R7, but read they are ‘banning’ ‘shutting down’/‘killing’ 3rd party lenses. Obviously, this lens is 3rd party & is compatible, so what do all those reports mean exactly?
@PhilThach2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It is third-party lenses that have auto focus that they may be disallowing. This third-party lens has no electrical connections to the camera whatsoever. Everything is fully manual.

@@PhilThach Ah, so most lenses people would consider purchasing then? That’s pretty mean, not everyone who loves photography has a huge budget to spend on Canon lenses. Appreciated your video on which RF glass to buy, too. Keep up the great work, enjoying your content! 👍🏼

Great shots. I like that venue looks like a cool place. The stars are neat but a little too big for my liking.
@PhilThach2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Stephen! I think if the subject is really close, the stars are too big with this lens, but if the subject is at a distance than the stars are really nice with this lens where they are a little small with other lenses. The library photo from the engagement video is a situation where the stars are just right with this lens to me.

@@PhilThach I did like the Sun star it made in the video the other day.

Fingerprints are off the devil. 😂 I forget that I touch my front lens a lot and get these terrible artifacts and figure it out later…🙄 You get great images as usual and, I agree that is a cool little venue.
