Thanks for helping me relive a time I never knew I missed. This song evokes pure nostalgia and yearning for a retro future that never happened. It sings to me on a primal level, and prickles the hairs on my neck every time I watch it. It's like a dream I can only half remember, a whispered promise echoing from childhood, and a demonstration of art and technical skill peerlessly combined.

This song is 10 years old already?!! I found this one on my mp3 player last night and listened to it, eyes open looking up at the ceiling mesmerized. What a tune. It's a movie soundtrack and a jam at the same time. Remember discovering it on Reddit and buying the album. Time flies! But this song endures. If you read this Starcadian all the best! This is soooo good.

I feel like the lyrics express two diffrent perspectives, the first verse is the pilot speaking to the navigator apologizing for forcing them to stay with him as he explores the universe. Saying "I need to relax" is the pilot telling the navigator that he's letting him go, leaving him behind on his own. The second part of the line "and I need to get rid of my phone" the "phone" he's talking about is navigator. When he says "I'm stuck in the sky and I can't let go" means how he's unable to let go of being in space. As for the last part "I ripped a hole through your heart..." is the pilot finally apologizing for keeping the navigator essentially a prisoner of necessity, before releasing it. The second verse is the navigator's Perspective. The lyrics at the start "I'm getting excited at my feeling of dread" is its thoughts as its finally free from its purpose, happy, but also scared as to what it should do now that it doesn't have a purpose. Next thing to address is the lyrics "don't know if this world is a lie in my head I move like a raindrop Caught in a vaccum of air I'm silent and calm, cunfused and aware" I believe that these are it's thoughts as it falls through earth's atmosphere, when it says "caught in a vaccum of air" & the line "silent and calm, confused and aware" meaning it's trying to process what's happened to it, why it's on earth, but they actually know the answer, thus "calm" & "aware" the same line as the pilots "I ripped a hole..." means that the navigator is actually the reasons the pilot is "stuck in the sky" unable to come down. The navigator sucked all the love the pilot had for humanity, no long having a desire to see it forming a scar on his "heart" which would actually be his connection to humans. The last lines for both of them "now we are binary stars" is them talking to each other, saying that no matter where the each go from now on, they'll always be together, just look up at the stars. The whole binary stars thing is the navigator's way of seeing them as it's a program. Or is it? Could it be some kind of intelligent being trapped in a form of prison? But that's just my view on the song, by no means the actual meaning behind starcadian's actual universe for his creations.
