This is totally true. Gary was cast for the cheap!

He didn’t return his land to hand on the original cast either, wasn’t that a symmetrical effect? Edit: he didn’t pay anything for the encore he only exiled a card and Gary, never payed the encore cost. The bloodcheif shouldn't of triggered for the serra sanctum since they were both destroyed at the same time, and the wording on bloofcheif makes it so the game doesn't go back and check. I'm glad you guys brought back the communal intro in the beginning. Probably the mix of that and the deck techs in the way to go. And if anyone cares, Bloodchief can't trigger off of Impatience. They both trigger on the endstep, and because 2 damage hasn't been done, the bloodchief trigger doesn't even go on the stack. I only mention this mistake since it had a rather large impact on the game, unlike some of the other smaller ones.

When you have 2 of the players arguing about the degeneracy of their decks, then they've both built awful decks to play against. I'm with Steven on this, guy never even had the chance to be involved in the game.
@matttownsend84064 жыл бұрын
I think Jeremy’s deck is the worse of the 2 as the bouncing of the lands stopped them playing, if that didn’t happen they would’ve been able to put creatures into play and kill him. Justin’s deck again forces you to essentially pay life to play. Again if people could’ve established a board they could’ve raced the damaging effects to kill them before they were taxed to death. Tho playing against staxx isn’t something I would like, some people do like it tho. Tbf Jon played a Staxx deck a long time ago and literally nobody else could play it was draw pass for all of them except Jon as he stopped them Untapping lands so essentially the same as bouncing them here.

Both times the decimate was cast it should have fizzled because the Dismiss into dreams meant when a creature was targeted it would have died before the spell resolved and decimate needs all targets in play to be able to resolve
@ToSGod4 жыл бұрын
No, you need 4 targets. The spell isn’t countered unless all targets aren’t legal. So it was fine the first time it was cast.
@suikodin25014 жыл бұрын
You need all legal targets for cast (true for any spell), but only one legal target for spell/ability to resolve (true for all spells/abilities). This is ofc only applies to spells/abilities with the actual wording "target".
@Vesperalsage4 жыл бұрын
They played it correctly. Decimate does not fizzle if one of the the targets becomes illegal as the spell resolves. Decimate only needs all four targets when casting the spell. If a target becomes illegal before the spell resolves it will just resolve as much of the ability as it can. "608.2b If the spell or ability specifies targets, it checks whether the targets are still legal. A target that’s no longer in the zone it was in when it was targeted is illegal. Other changes to the game state may cause a target to no longer be legal; for example, its characteristics may have changed or an effect may have changed the text of the spell. If the source of an ability has left the zone it was in, its last known information is used during this process. If all its targets, for every instance of the word “target,” are now illegal, the spell or ability doesn’t resolve. It’s removed from the stack and, if it’s a spell, put into its owner’s graveyard. Otherwise, the spell or ability will resolve normally. Illegal targets, if any, won’t be affected by parts of a resolving spell’s effect for which they’re illegal. Other parts of the effect for which those targets are not illegal may still affect them. If the spell or ability creates any continuous effects that affect game rules (see rule 613.11), those effects don’t apply to illegal targets. If part of the effect requires information about an illegal target, it fails to determine any such information. Any part of the effect that requires that information won’t happen." Every instance of the work "target" would have to be made illegal in order for the spell to fizzle.
