Lowko, in the case you didn't know (just for storytelling), Adun was a powerful ancient protoss executor, that was once comanded to execute the rogue protoss that had cut their head organs in order to preserve their individuality instead of being linked to the khala. Adun instead of executing them faked their deaths and hid them. But once discovered by the conclave, all of the rogues were send in a ship into space, and Adun sacrificed himself in order to save them. Adun toridas means: Adun hide you.

Adun was also the first Twilight Protoss who can harness both Templar and Nerazim energies. It was said that in great distress he would return. Tassadar would later fulfill that who would also become the same as Adun's sacrifice: using both Nerazim and Templar energy to avoid a greater threat.

This is also part of why Ouros' deception in pretending to be tassadar is so effective on Zeratul- because the nerazim myth of the "twilight messiah" returning in times of great need was sort of true with the way tassadar did what he did- so him coming back to help the protoss avert their extinction totally fits within the nerazim religion

Well if you want more lore, I got something for Shakurus lore. You remember Taldarin from Fenix's co-op kit? Well the original one is playable from the Stukov series of extra missions from BW (ones that explains his story of dead to alive to infested) When you meet Taldarin, he says was the the first Dragoon and was in Cyro for over 3000 years and fought alongside Adun. Chris Metzen later said to ignore the number 3000 because they just picked a big number before mapping the timeline and that the real number was much lower. If you talk to Vorazun on Sharkurus, they talk about how Adun was the one who chose to exile the Dark Templar when it was exile or murder them. Since Zeratul is about 650 and is one of the few DT to know Aiur's location prior to reunifcation, that makes it so that their exile/Adun's late feats was in Zeratul's lifetime.

The nerazim were exiled from shakuras a little less than a thousand years ago, Raszagal was a child when they first left aiur (and she personally met adun/was part of why he helped them after meeting her and realising they had no ill intents and just wanted to live their lives) Zeratul would've been part of the first generation of nerazim born on shakuras. It's never really remarked upon, but the first time he saw his homeworld was when he had to go protect it from a threat he himself accidentally led to it, which is kind of sad when you think about it

Probably it hasn't aged well, but the cinematic from Broodwar still gives me goosebumps. Grim, dark, captures the desperation of hopeless terrified marines figthing in a trench against thousands of zergs. And DuGalle and Stukov were amazing characters.

One underrated tip for the protoss campaign is to make sure you have solid sim city. You can often make solid wall offs with your structures that end up paying off in a big way and the starting configurations generally are set up so that you can do it easily.

The reason of why Amon can corrupt the Khala is that, with my assumption, the khaydarin crystals which form the Khala allow Amon, who brought those crystals to Aiur in the first place, take control of them.

Spear of Adun was actually constructed during Protoss golden age as the last hope for the protoss race. There were actually 3 arcship but 2 were destroyed by Overmind during the invasion. so just try to imagine how much space they took first to build and store. Favourite cinematic is probably the one at the end of Warcraft 3 where Archimonde dies on the World Tree to a ton of wisps. Runners up: the one earlier in the game where Archimonde destroys Dalaran with sand magic; the one from Starcraft where the zerg travel through a wormhole; the one where Tassadar destroys the Overmind; and the one where the Xel'Naga temple explodes on Shakuras.

Brief note: Now that Amon has control of the Templar on Aiur, he also has the ability to interface with all of their technology. That includes their Warp Gates - you know, like the one that you used in Brood War to escape to Shakuras. Shakuras, the new capital world of the Daelaam. You might want to go back there quickly.

Originally Zeratul was supposed to be the main protagonist of the Protoss campaign but Artanis fit better as a leader. So Zeratul took more of a mentor role and, since you can't have the mentor tag along and tell them exactly what to do in the big conflicts, suffered the same fate as Obi-Wan Kenobi and other similar sci-fi and fantasy characters.

I wonder how Amon took control of the robotic units. When i saw the destroyed Colosus and Immortal at that abandoned base i guessed, that they couldnt be converted to Amon and thus were destroyed by the corruptedTemplar. I think my favourite all time blizzard cutscenes are the death of Zeratul (that pained "my life... for aiur!" still gives me goosebumps), the cutscene from warcraft 3, where Arthur killed his father (My son, what are you doing?! Succeding you father!) and the one where Tyrael faced of against Imperius (You can not judge me for I am justice itself!) and decided to (quite literally) throw away his immortality to defend humanity. Also in the same cutscene we see Deckard Cains funeral and Leia, who had always doubted Cains lifelong, work finally accepted, that his work was important, even critical for the survival of Sanctuary and made her decision to follow his footsteps and to carry on with his work.

I really enjoyed the Protoss campaign for SC2. Here are a few of my campaign picks that I found really helpful: Stalker- super shield recharge on a front line unit. overall very strong. Avenger- A zealot, but with infinite lives. A-move and forget them and do it again. And again. And again. Get used to the conga line of DTs walking across the map. Annihilator- shadow Cannon is just so good (and anti air!). Incredible burst damage, AA and hybrid killer. Everything just melts. Arbiter - excellent general support and stasis "this is tomorrow me's problem" for final mission. Of course theres nothing wrong with mixing things up, but these were always solid picks for me.
