Aiur was never a world that was under Kerrigan's control - she remaind on Char when the Overmind and the Cerebrates invaded. Nevertheless, after the Overmind was killed, the surviving Cerebrates instead moved to Shakuras, leaving the Zerg on Aiur to turn feral. Tarsonis has feral Zerg around by the time Legacy of the Void, but their numbers are relatively few because Kerrigan did use it as her base of operations (and it was effectively her birthplace as the Queen of Blades) until near the end of the Brood War, after which she returned to Char and presumably left some of them behind.

A couple Brood War missions featured feral Zerg. By this point, all the Zerg not under the control of Kerrigan can be controlled by Amon. Zagara and most of the Swarm Queens shared control with Kerrigan after rejoining the Swarm. The most notable exception is Niadra, who Kerrigan abandoned after she took control of that Protoss ship in Heart of the Swarm. Blizzard is currently examining what she's up to in the Shadow Wars digital comics.

My personal preference: LotV opening and Wrath of Lich King opening tied for number 1. Watching all those in-game Protoss things realized thanks to new CGI technology can't be more exciting. Think about BW. Think about WoL and HotS, WoL and HotS were all about human fighting bugs that quite are frequent in sci-fi movies (though they were great).

Well you didn't always need an actual structure by a Pylon for fast warp ins. This is SC2 as it was 3 years ago.

if this was coop artanis, he wouldnt need a pylon, he can deploy a power field instead. although maybe not, cos he doesnt have the spear of adun yet. but what ship did he come in? just a normal mothership? what top bar abilities would that have? warp in 50 zealots maybe?

lowko this was definitely not the first mention of the khala, the dark templar were banished from aiur and called heretics because they rejected the khala, that point was made back in the original starcraft already. :P but this is the first time it becomes this relevant to the story so I think they polished the whole concept a bit :D

from startcraft wiki : the khala was imposed on every protoss after the aeon of strife (a protoss civil war) to prevent another war. but some rogue protoss did not agree with it. adun was tasked with executing them, but instead talked to them and found that they were not irrational. he faked the executions to protect them and taught them how to cloak. but one day he was discovered, so he loaded the rogues into a xelnaga ship so that they can flee auir. the conclave was about to attack them, so adun created a blue mist using void energies to protect them. the mist caused his body to burn out, but the rogues were saved by his sacrifice, becoming dark templar. edit : upon reading further, it wasnt the conclave that attacked them. the conclave wanted to hide the existence of rogues from the public, so they wanted to banish them and ordered adun to load them into the xelnaga ship. although i dont know how they could do that with the khala. maybe the conclave had some sort of control over the khala where they could hide things but others couldnt. anyway it was some other jealous person that attacked them

The Zerg on Aiur are Feral Zerg and not under Kerrigan's control. Amazingly enough there are many worlds and broods Kerrigan doesn't control. I think Tarsonis was another as well.

Yes. Kerrigan never really tried to reunite the broods after the brood war. But how should she? She didnt have any time for that after the 2. overmind died and before that she was just not able to do that

This is not true ! After the Brood Wars finished and she killed all oponents Kerrigan and Swarm are stop whit invasion. And none know why this happen. Look into ingame cinematic after Raynor was escpae whit Hyperion what Matt say to Raynor. Sarah Kerrigan come for nowere and Swarm all galaxy !!! Also, Zerg Swarm never abandon all colonies, they just go from another planet to another. Zerg units on this planet are there to regrupe and get strainght. This "feral zergs" are swarm who Amon not found and not in his control !

Well, comparing this mission to other "first" missions of all other Campaigns...This one is by far the most action-packed and epic one. Gold for sure. Silver goes to Protoss campaign "first" mission in SC:BW Episode IV. Where they have left Aiur... Bronze goes to SC2 WoL Terran "first" mission. Why? Because nostalgia...

Thanks for the comment, but I was observing the Campaigns, not the mission packs, such as Covert Ops, LotV Prologue and Epilogue. Aside from this, yes, the first mission of Nova "campaign" was ground-breaking!

The amount of nerd chills I got when I first saw the merging process of an Archon hasn't gone away a bit. Archons are lore-wise supposed to be psionic manifestations of the rage that burns inside the High Templar that create it, whether that rage is because they know Archon merging is a dead end to their existance or because they were forced into such choice by the circumstances. Every time I see this trailer, the chills come back. To quote Hoyt from Far Cry 3. "It brought a tear to my eye. And I'm rarely moved"

The Khala is actually one of the StarCraft concepts that goes all the way back to the beginning. It was mentioned in the background information of the Protoss way back in the original release's manual.

In order to get the "kill all Zerg units in less than 10 minutes" achievement you have to kill the drones before killing the hatcheries. When killing a hatchery all the drones burrow and you don't have vision so you can't complete the achievement. I had to try so many times until I read that somewhere.

what i thought of just now. remeber in the terran campaign zeratul gave james a crystal, and on the 3rd misson he went to auir, and it look like every zearg unit is there including infested terrans, in heart of the swawrm kerragan should of just went to auir and reclaim all the feral zerg and she would of gotten all the zerg units in one go.

I like how the first mission is kinda like the tutorial of the races. WoL first mission : How to control and micro unit. Let Raynor tank because he has the most HP. Hots first mission: How to make drone , build zerg buildings , make zergling and overlord. Lotv first mission: How to A move a deathball.

It's REALLY easy to get under 100 death. Just group your immortal separately and let them go in first in a line. Between their shield and shield ability, they can tank a lot w/o actually taking health damage. And just wait a bit for shield to recharge between engagement. I got like 80 on first try with no micro beyond what I described (and occasional forward group blink)
