I was watching the production tab the entire middlegame seeing 2-3 additional gateways added repeatedly. I was like, yeah... as soon as they clash hes gonna warp like 20+ units and reinforce in a heartbeat. It happened, and I felt like a genius for once in my life. Great game.

I was playing skytoss against a zeg player who went mass corruptors I lost the air battel very quickly then built a bunch of gateway units, he was supply blocked with tons of corruptors so he lost the game without being able to anything and I left the corruptors alive to prevent reinforcement with ground units (maybe he/she was planning on lossing more in the battle but didn't so he/she would be able to build sth else) .

I'm surprised that no one has really gotten more liberators + ravens to counter carriers. Splash damage plus anti-armor missile is theoretically a good combo.

That sounds neat but Liberators only really take out interceptors (not even very well due to 0 base armor). Them having super low anti-air range also makes it awkward to use with AA Missile since most air units can just fly away out of range. Weirdly enough, Thors would be better for that combo due to much longer range and over doubled the air damage output vs interceptors (plus the ability to switch to High Impact to then kill the Carrier after the interceptors are wiped out).

@@joshuakim5240 i dont believe you have ever used thors vs interceptors. With 20 libs any amount of interceptors can be destroyed instantly. This is because libs can stack up, forcing the interceptors to clump. Thors cannot, and absolutely suck at killing interceptors

@@hivetech4903 i dont disagree, in 1v1 mass lib is too expensive and too supply heavy (even at lower levels). But to say that libs suck in AA or that their range matters, is really dumb. And to say that thors deal with interceptors is laughable.

What I've seen so far is that the hesitation can sometimes be the key in these kinds of huge army against another huge army battles. Clem hesitating his vikings due to storms but tempest had the range advantage and were shrinking the viking count. Meanwhile this hesitation gave ST those precious 20 seconds to re-max with Stalkers. Amazing game!

Any protoss unit under the shield gets +2 damage reduction. Regardless the location of the damage source.

Because the only aggression that terrans feel comfortable with is medivac drops.

@@KeepersofKeys Because Terran doesn't have a timing unless they kill a good chunk of workers with a widow mine or hellion drop. Medivac drops is a relic of HotS. You get recalled on and lose all your medivacs to blink. It's laughable to even think about medivac drops in this age. When was the last time you saw a bio drop do anything? In the midgame, Protoss has their third base saturated way faster and their gateways give an instant round of units upon completion. Meanwhile Terran production needs to wait for addons and a full cycle of production before any units come out so there's no timing on the Protoss third. Move forward a bit more and now disruptors are on the field and it's incredibly difficult to push into that. You can try and split your army at this stage but if the Protoss is ever out of position, they just recall. So you're forced into the late game with paper aero planes that die instantly to storm. Maybe Clem should have tried harder to engage at the latter points by trying harder to emp all the hts but Showtime was being careful about zoning out ghosts with his main army.

His recent games in the GSL finals was full of desperate attempts at making a timing happen but it was all laughed off, except for the one game where herO screwed up his worker pull and lost 6 probes to a mine. The first game was especially hilarious - Maru wanted to go for a 3 rax timing but a a zealot and an oracle screwed him over so badly that herO was allowed to take Maru's (!) gold base as well as his own. Imagine going for a super aggressive build only to have the opponent expand right outside your own base. In TvP, I usually look at the timing of the 3rd to get an idea of the Terran's mental state. If they get it before going up to 5 rax, I think that they still have a chance cause the game will go on. If they go up to 5 raxes and they didn't kill any probes early, I count the game as mathematically over. By the time the 3 extra raxes build addons and produce units, the Protoss is already ready to crush the push. Going further back to his older games, where he goes super late game vs Protoss with a ghost, viking, lib tank composition, he uses some of his bio to snipe edge bases (at this point, it's like the Protoss's >5th base). He'll bring medivacs along with it sure but at this point, I don't really think of it as a "drop". Sometimes he'll walk his army there and sometimes he'll drop it. The difference is insignificant that late into the game.

The game was probably already over at that point, but I would have liked to clem land his vikings to kill the stalkers instead of trying to dive the few remaining tempests. Vikings are incredibly good at smashing through stalkers on the ground. The tempests are going to be annoying for sure chipping stuff down from range the stalkers were the real threat at that point, and might have bought him some time to spend some of his bank.
