I think you are right. For large parts of the game it looked like Serral trying to get some training in. The supply difference was quite significant for most of the time.

Love your vids, Lowko. Quick English note, no offense meant! Range vs Ranged. Quick trick: If range comes first it's ranged, if it comes second it's range. Examples: long-range, close-range, melee-range VS ranged-attack (an attack that happens at range), ranged-defense (defense against ranged-attack). Units have range. Their range can be upgraded with range upgrades. Those upgrades benefit their ranged attacks. Sorry I'm picky, your English is phenomenal and I wouldn't have a prayer of speaking Dutch. Keep up the amazing work!

This was just painful to watch. Honestly, the only reason it lasted any longer than like 20min is because Serral vastly overestimated his opponent. For long periods he had a 3:1 army value lead and still played super defensively when he probably could have won with a simple all army attack move.

Serral was playing a micro intensive highly diverse army. Infestors, Vipers, Broodlords, and Lurkers can't be attack moved. Look at the fight at 27:20. Those are the fights that Serral's deathball could win and the only way to force Skillous to switch from his high eco swarm approach into a fight like that was to trade with maximum efficiency and inflict minor economic damage over time. @LowkoTV pointed out that Serral was playing the Protoss deathball style offensively, but he was also playing turtle Terran defensively. Serral didn't overestimate his opponent, he won the game using his excel spreadsheet brain.

yep I always think about it....some terran do it, they have a Planetary Fortress with an extra Orbital Command near it...and prefere to rebuild the Planetary Fortress while long distance mining insead of flying the Orbital to replace the old Planetary Fortress (the Orbital will fly when in danger)

think pushing creep and static with fewer broodlords presplitted so it's easy to defend the entire creep pushing, then when within range gather, or whenever a defensive point is hit hard gather 24:33 1.6k is a lot of static and zergling pressure with borrow everywhere. there should pref never be an engagement without zerglings and worms coming up and in to every base he has ^^ insane micro but again serral can if anyone can ^^

i miss serral broodling attacking broodlings and zerglings to get a much longer range on broodlords; insane micro needed but it looks so cool and is honestly how it should automatically work, there should be a siege function for them much like libs tyvm ^^

28:03 why there should be a zergling everywhere it can annoy all the time :P if you got the apm. and small groups forcing defensive set units etc. worms that come up at annoying spots forcing you to scout, maybe ambush if smaller force, or counter attack if bigger :P BORROW MUST BE USED MORE !!! :P also roach borrow heal micro must be something for something; just never seen it utilized very well :P

SKillous had Serral on the ropes and Serral, instead of taking additional bases, simply stopped defending what he couldn't defend with his slower force and let SKillous have reign over the map. SKillous actually got too greedy and ended up in a situation where he was the one with the slower army and had more territory to defend than he had forces to effectively cover. It was a great game

I'm surprised that Serral did not bothered to expand. Usually such players just lose in the long run, but Skillous was completely outclassed by Serral. It just could not do anything effectively after Serral consolidated. It even felt that Serral was toying with him as he never bothered to attack even when at massive advantage.

Crazy how SKillous had a huge expansion advantage and destroyed the main Zerg base, but was always like 60 supply lower. Went full gateway man and never built up his army, just kept expanding. Then immediately died when Serral went Lurker and attacked with his Broods.

Skillous playing his heart out there, but Serral is just too thorough. Never pushed too far too fast, never let those stalkers get under the broods, never letting himself get in a game-losing situation. Sure, he lost a ton of stuff, but he never lost *his army* and he never let Skillous actually recover long enough to build a fleet that *could* compete with him. Lowko said, "Skillous is going to fight this with Stalkers and Zealots" but really, Serral never let him *build* anything but Stalkers and Zealots.

For me, Maru has the scariest lategame IF he reaches it intact. He can beat Serral, Reynor, Dark, all zergs if he can go into lategame intact. He's also strongest TvT and I think he can also beat Protoss in lategame. BUT, his opponents usually make sure that that doesn't happen. In comparison, Serral plays very safely that he can go into lategame more or less in one piece

Unfortunately stalkers aren't nearly as cost effective as marines, a good reason why no one ever makes them their main unit vs an end game zerg army.

Is there a legit reason why didnt Serral switched to left-up corner bases after mining out right side? those 4 bases (or at least 3 that Skillous ended up taking) are very close to each other so broods would be able to nicely defend them as opposed to defending 1 on base on the far bottom right and up left base. And that would place Skillous on 1 base vs 3-4 base Serral. Other than using Skillous as practice dummy i guess)
