I tried a similar strat with only one nexus at each entrance and some immos behind 2 entrances to take care of hybrids before they do too much damage to nexi. Instead of blocking completely entrances I used a wall of batteries and behind them photo cannons and then monoliths. Strat found in another YT video. I reached 2.9 billion more less, got the mastery and the anniversary in brutal. The thing is that using too many nexi uses a lot of space and sacrifices dps, also I only had 1 gateway and 1 robotics facility everything else was just spamming monoliths and batteries XD. I didn't destroyed buildings to place more defense as I forgot about it. I've seen other strats where entrances are blocked with cannons and they work pretty well, except for the fact that they get destroyed faster and you need to keep rebuilding. The battery block works because you derp the enemy into finding a path to the monoliths (which where the ones shooting them at first) and for some units it works like the hybrids, in others just for a few seconds like the lings and banes. That can make a difference in having a building and losing it in an instant.

My God, I never got so many, my record was 1.6 billion on brutal, interesting using nexus as wall and units to atract banelings, you also made something I couldn't, managed to spend every penny as soon as you could, even making the expansion very soon on the game. You really didn't leave no space without a defense. Can someone answer if does the game cheats to ends this mission? Like the Hybrids gaining more health and attack. I did see that the IA begin sending guardian by the soutwest and west after sometime, a thing it never did on mine, well, I never stand that much, congratulations. Being a pro is another thing.

About finding ways to finish the mission... I don't think so. In "In Utter Darkness", all that happened is that they got the usual unit upgrades and bigger and more frequent forces. You'll eventually run out of resources, so there's no need to actually cheat your way through. And besides, there's nowhere as much tech as in that mission, so you cannot really hold out the final waves.

Happens exactly as In Utter Darkness, bigger waves happening more frequently. Did you see all these Hybrids? They are 1000 HP, also AI will begin waving one or two Ultralisks but there were like 7 in each wave by this time.

@@llSuperSnivyll no, they also started getting increased natural armor under their upgrades and start taking less damage. There is a "final wave" after a while which doesn't end and contained an overwhelming number of all types of units with increased armor which even a maxed out army won't be able to hold off. But with this mission no, the waves just keep coming, and they get slightly bigger, but outside of that, once you're north of 1.5 Billion is about your own personal endurance and resource management

thats extremely impressive. but as kerrigan said: "zergs are numberless". in the end, all shall fall before the zergs. nexuses are great defensive structures for walling in on these defensive missions. They have a lot of hit points and also relatively cheap. with the nexus overcharge they can shoot too.

I'm surprised you didn't use more Energizers to supercharge all of the cannons and monoliths so they could shoot faster. Still, that was a very impressive play, and nice idea to use Nexûs as meat shields.

You need to choose to do the purifier mission and terran missions first and get all bonus objectives. You can select missions and if you select this one first or second you won't have everything needed to get 2+ billion.

there are several types of hybrids - melee, ranged, casting, flying casting and behemoth. I think the one you mentioned is just a regular ranged.

This is the hint on this part of the game that you will loose without your air units because no matter how tough your ground defense are you will be pinned down by those zerg air units and not to mention there isn't any broodlord on this 🤔.

Do you mean the Spear of Adun ability? If you macro well you don't really need it. It's better to have automatic Assimilators to free up worker supply for army. If you mean normal chronoboost, yeah Idk why people wouldn't use it.

This level since you have 4 entrances to defend whereas in the latter you only had 3.

​@@andybogdan4380 I agree. With utter darkness, you just have to keep pumping out units non-stop. You can sit back doing very little. In this mission, one small mistake will cost you the secondary achievement.

Didn't all the Shakuras Protoss die in Brood War when it got infested? All the Protoss there have their nerve cords severed and are immune to Amon, and the ones who died earlier are dead. Unless Amon brought them from off-world there wouldn't be Protoss.
