Spoiler. Holy fuckin zerg clinic. Dark played this beautifully. such a well deserved win. The game 1 nydus play was absolutely textbook perfect; as a terran player it was painful to watch but just so well executed. Game 3 he was so cost effective with those corruptors vs the medivacs that i dont think marus composition stood any real chance of winning. nightmare creep spread off the back of perfect macro, I dont blame maru for tappnig out like that after the last engagement; what can u do vs that kind of runaway freight train economy? nothing, is the answer to that riddle. well done.

***** i realize this when it comes to supply blocking or having scvs off the line for too long, but losing 1 reaper really has no other major effect on the game. you just lost a unit. it doesn't really affect any build order or anything. when lost, it's just one less reaper. nothing more, nothing less.

Thomas Becker Think of it this way: Let's say you're moving out with a 90 supply bio force. How devastating would it be if you somehow lost 30 of that supply for nothing? That's 1/3 of your army. It's kind of the same thing with the reapers. Losing one reaper is losing 1/3 of your "army".

Stuart Smith thats a pretty aggressive point of view, i mean you only lose like 50 minerals and gas with a reaper. obviously 1/3 of your army would cost way way more and would be more detrimental if you had 90 supply vs like, a reaper

Thomas Becker I know it sounds a bit ridiculous but there's a bit more to it than that. The cost isn't the important part. Also by the time you have that much army you've mined quite a bit more than during a reaper attack. Anyway the important part is that you now are putting on 1/3 less pressure. 3 reapers can fight a queen. 3 reapers can fight a lot more zerglings and kill a lot more drones than 2. Your pressure is weaker for the duration of the hellion harass as well.

Stuart Smith but what if youre not doing a reaper heavy build, and youre just making 1 just to scout and maybe get a drone kill or 2, which is something polt does a lot. but when he loses that reaper after getting all his scouting done and maybe getting a drone or 2, everyone goes nuts. it just doesnt seem like that big a deal

Carlibengarli Depending on how far the mineral field is relative to the command center, it's sometimes best to remove nearly expiring mules because they have to tendency to expire with minerals still in their clutches without being to deliver it to the CC in time.

Carlibengarli The Mules will often grab a huge batch of minerals, then run out of time before reaching the command center. So, what you do is wait until they have very little energy left, then send them off to die, thus preventing those minerals from being lost forever. Hope that helps :)

Zen, I think you're almost right but with ling micro I think Dark is better. What I really liked about life is that he's very aggressive (sending ling harass while defending) which Dark lacks at. But because players know that Dark is more macro-oriented defensive player, his ling counter and offensive move becomes much more effective. Still, both are just amazing

Why do people find excuses for terran players when they lose. We all saw the games, with the exception of game one potentially by maru's carelessness, Dark outplayed maru. Its that simple. Maru is just slightly overrated playing an advantageous race.
