A very fun mutation mission in StarCraft 2. This week's one is called "First Strike" and in this video I complete the mission on the Brutal difficulty. Instead of making an army based around units, I decide to focus on Dehaka and use him, the major cooldowns and tons of Primal Worms.
With a powerful laser drill at his disposal, nothing is beyond Amon's reach. If he can see you, he can hit you. Charge in, and wipe him out.
Long Range: Enemy units & structures have increased weapon and vision range.
Short-sighted: Player units and structures have reduced vision range.
Laser Drill: An enemy Laser Drill constantly attacks player units within enemy vision.

FYI for anyone that does not know (that includes Lowko) Vora's Time Stop actually stops the Hybrid's Push. This means that if she uses Time Stop on the last hybrid wave and you are close, you can just end the mission, without having to fight the Hybrid at all :D

When you get those missions/mutations with Dehaka up against Zerg try to devour the vipers/infestors of attacking forces (while being in the middle of'em with dehaka himself) since they are psionic you get the "blast" wich kills pretty much everything off instantly! ;)

This strategy is indeed super fun, and I've tried it myself. However as we can glimpse in the score screen later, Vorazun's standard composition of DT/Corsair is much more effective, and Dronerush gets almost double of Lowko's kills. The main reason is that DT/Corsair doesn't need vision, whereas the wurms do. - Dark Templar will indeed have a tough time on Banelings. However their saving grace is that they do not take any damage when in the middle of their Shadow Fury motion. - Mutalisks might have been extremely viable for this mutation because they have a short range anyway. - Enemy creep tumors, and the fighting champions also provide vision for the laser drill. So they probably still can totally hit you. - Dehaka being stunned while consuming something in time stop is indeed a known bug. Hope they fix soon. - You can still use rapidfire for the primal wurms. [use hotkey for deep tunnel, hold shift, then hold down any other key you have for rapidfire.] - Your ally got REALLY powerful; Vorazun is one of the most gas-starved commanders. With all the extra gases, he's able to get ALL his upgrades and units so quickly! - The cooldown for consume varies depending on the previous unit he consumed. What I've been doing is using consume on tiny units like Zerglings and Marines, then when only big units remain, that's when I consume capital ships. Psionic units give a cooldown buff to devour, so I could still devour first Hybrid Dominators before other things. - Vipers should be one of the most priority targets for Devour as well. It's psionic so it gives you a cooldown buff and the psionic explosion thingy; and it also stops its annoying disabling cloud and Parasitic Bomb.

Right? Constantly throughout this mission I kept shaking my head ... lowko mains zerg, so why doesn't he realize creep tumors give vision and go after the ones he detects? I have no idea if you're right about the champions providing vision; seems to me when the creep tumors go, so does the laser drill. But maybe the immediate area around the champions, like the player vision radius. Also, it's not necessary to run all melee here; all you need is enough melee to provide vision for ranged units, so technically as long as Dehaka or the DTs are moving around, the wurms should have vision where they are. I'd have to agree about vipers being top priority but infestors are also high priority if no vipers are in sight, since they often spawn extra units and give many of the same buffs as viper.

Couple fun builds I use... Queen of Worms: build 4 to 6 Omega worms with kerrigan and either mass queen or lurker behind them, spam the worms into a fight and use the last one to unload queens directly into or in front of the enemy. The worms + kerrigans healing creep tanks a lot of damage and your ally can use your worms as well. The queens auto cast heals and can be very durable. Tanks for the Memories: Build a couple of those bulk transports that swan has, siege up tanks and pick them up then insta drop them all over the map in siege mode. This requires a lot of micro but is so fun. Also works with Raynor throw in some medics or science vessels to heal the tanks. My Toys: Mass dark archon with mind control and steal EVERYTHING of value. Call in the Fleet: Raynor build 4 or so medics stick them in a safe spot mass BCs and when they are low in hp Tactical Jump to the medics, they heal mechanical with their one upgrade, and use the improved thrusters to cruse all over the map.

Gateway units only? That challenge is made for artanis with mass zealot/archon, one of his strongest builds, or alarak with mass ascendant, literally his strongest build. That would only be difficult if you made it for Vorazun or Karax. Fenix mass adept is much stronger than you think once they get the shades; I don't think that would provide a whole lot of challenge. But playing only dark archons or only oracles does sound like a big challenge and an interesting fight (both are for vorazun only, however). The mass oracle could also be paired with an Artanis who is only allowed to build Phoenix. Another similar challenge idea is Raynor, vikings only, or Swann, air only. I would say Kerrigan mass brood lord falls into the same category but as long as your partner had anti-air covered, mass brood lord would absolutely wreck ground forces. Brood lord and devourer or BL/scourge would probably be the most OP zerg air force ever. A better "challenge" might be abathur guardians only and zagara corruptor only.

Here are some more: Raynor: Marine/Medic without armor upgrades calldowns into battlecruisers Swann: Complete a given mission with only a hercules and the amount of tanks it can carry Buildings only swann mass wraiths Nova: Nova only (needs help of partner) Kerrigan: Well, kerrigan only Zergling only build (kerrigan for AA) Muta-ling-kerrigan Zagara: Abberation,corruptor Only banelings & scourges (leaves you with less defensive capabilitys) Abathur: Roach ravager only Mass queens Toxic nests only (with partner for AA) Stukov: Mass bunkers (without deloading the units) Artanis: Spin to win zealot strats (dont build any units unless your attacked, so only warp ins when needed) Mass pheonix Alarak: Photon overcharge (have your partner build anything that can uproot and follow alarak. You can then use Photon overcharge on that building) Fenix: champions only

Your Mother it's justified sort of...his Mech was not viable at all when he launched, and by the time blizz buffed it, people had moved on from.stukov or were set on bio. I LOVE SkyStukov, I find it more viable then bio in some situations

Try "stealth assassins" cloaked units only. Vorazun and Nova recommended -Nova and her units can only attack if cloaked. -Vorazun can only place cannons defending base or in Dark Pylon cloaking field. -Karax cannons can only defend base or be placed in Dark Pylon cloaking field. -Fenix units can only push with his Arbiter. They have to move back if it dies or you switch. -For Zerg, burrowed is ok. -Raynor can only use Banshee calldown and tanks in Dark Pylon cloaking field. -Swann can use Perdition turrets anywhere and any turrets defending base.

Exactly it's a good challenge. Pair them with the medics after getting their upgrade from the barrack techlab and they almost never die.

As Raynor, when I get a Swann teammate who gets all gases and nice and early - I always choose to go mass battlecruisers. But I never figured to build medics with them. Keep forgetting that Raynor medics heal mech too. Omg, I hope I get a Swann team mate soon! :O

You should do a Fenix/Zagara game where Fenix goes mass Sentinels and Zagara goes Mass Scourge and those are the only units you are allowed to make! You can get the hero zealot too on Fenix ;)

I did Stukov and Swann. Build a turret and as soon as the laser starts attacking it, just heal it with 2 or 3 scvs and the laser is a none factor during the whole game.

So what if you were to do the mutations with the same Commanders you beat them with when you first attempted them with, like a before and after sort of video? Since so far everything's on rotation again and it's been a long time since you didn't have the mastery points plus you got even more experience with this mutations, it would be interesting to see how much faster you could do them. Granted, I'm not 100% sure about that one with the "Nuclear Prestige Hybrids" one on Mist Opportunities of you know what I mean. Still, an interesting option to consider, but keep up the great work Lowko! I look forward to the day where you play the Bad Weather one again!

You are not using Intimidating Roar towards the end. Dehaka would be taking so much less damage if the enemies are stunned. The worms also have a manual acid attack.

I just learned something else Dehaka has with WarCraft III. Not only does he level like a WC3 hero, and his buildings can fight, but the zerglings can harvest minerals and gas, and they're faster. This will free up more drones for worms. (I'm SAXnBUCKsDAD)
