Honestly i think its a better use for it than what most pros do. It has a tendency to just cast 1 spell (if that) and die to a volley from vikings. Can't tell you how many games i've seen someone build 3 or 4 motherships in a single match. If you're going to keep any units at all back for base defense then the mothership is a far more versatile defensive unit, especially since most base defense units are going to be ground, and if needed it can call in backup as well.

I LOVE the turtle Terran meta and I hope it remains forever. Mostly because it lets us see the awesome tier 3 units from all 3 races, as well as actual strategy being required to win games. Nothing is more boring than seeing games end before 7 minutes to some timing attack

The glee from terran getting some of that skytoss action is just so juicy for me. The frigin turtling terrans and broken skytoss inceptor ball can crash into eachother and both go to hell. Just feels so good when they get part of their own medicine.

I really would like to see Liberators used against Carriers. Just a few thrown in with the Vikings so the splash damage can be used again the Interceptors. I think at times like @21:58 where the Interceptors are all bunched up, a couple shots from some Liberators would demolish them.

I think the problem is that liberators Air to Air attack is too weak, both damage and spash-radius wise. Also Liberators aren't cheap.

The problem is, even if you kill all interceptors with a bunch of liberators (15-20+ for better efficiency) you won't be able to kill the carriers themself. Liberators with +3 deal 2 attacks of 8 damage. Carriers with +3 armor have 5 armor. Which means one liberator will deal 2x3 damage every shot on a 300 hp carrier. It means 50 shots with an attack speed of 1,29 that means constantly attacking for more than a minute. In a real scenario, the protoss player can just back up, rebuild 1 interceptors every 9sec, and engage again. And if they see you massing liberators, just one or two templars would wreak them quick with storm. To give you another example, in order to 1 shot a carrier, you need 65 liberators (all players 3/3). That's verrryyy improbable. In comparaison, you need 18 vikings to 1 shot a carrier. That's more reasonable. (And viking cost less and shoot further allowing to disengage much more easily) Then you might ask, interceptors ain't free, which is right they cost 15 minerals. So if the protoss have like 15 carriers, with 8 interceptors, that's a total of 120 interceptors x 15 minerals = 1800 minerals to replenish all the interceptors if they died. In general, at this point in the game, each players mine for more than 2-3k ressources per minute. Using liberators to kill all interceptors over and over will not work as well as you might think. A liberator cost 150/150, if you lose 6 liberators while engaging the interceptors, it will cost you as much as you dealt. Trying to kill 120 interceptors without losing 6 liberators is... almost impossible.

I actually do wonder why we don't see Disruptors being used more to harass the opponent's perimeter, both the Supply Depots here and the inevitable lines of Spore Crawlers in ZvP. True, it may not be optimal, and you have to watch your Disruptors to make sure they don't die, but done properly you can break the opponent's defenses from a safe distance, or at the least the player's attention will be drawn there and they'll have to commit time to replacing and maintaining those defenses, which can create openings for you to hit them elsewhere.

I can't ever figure out why people don't use voids against skyterran, voids rip everything terran has apart. coupled with a few tempest and carriers and the terrans only option is to transition back to ground... but then you just 'base trade' and terran is gone lol. Had 2 matches where my oponent tried to use skyterran, both I used voids, void is MUCH cheaper to replace over a carrier Of course, unlike most matches PvT is always a LONG match for me, talking 30-45 minutes or more some times... Terran just has so many counters to protoss it sucks, kind of like how zerg feel against toss I guess lolol

i mean the mothership/mothership core was originally suppose to be a defensive unit. i hate how "ideal builds" starcraft has become. like u never see players use units in different ways because they do the same things to win. cheese and if not giant ball in the endgame. like its the same crap and hats mainly blizzards fault for making units soo one note. having hard counters for pretty much everything and such.

Why pro players never counter skytoss with liberators ? Once you have at least 10-12 of them, you can shred interceptors with the splash damage.

@@heraktus2 I agree that Keen made some terrible missplays (altough he made some decent drop bys with the marines he got a bunch of probe kills) but the Protoss Skytoss "deathball" still seems pretty Op they can harrass with barely any consequences because carriers and disruptors dont really need to get close to do a lot of damage , they are slow but they can use mass recall anytime they get in trouble , and they can easily recharge their shields in every base without spending resources like repair does .

The AI really need to be redone to target the carrier and not the interceptors ! Also nuking Protoss is not as good as nuking Zerg! Ghost should have been used to do EMP mainly. Vikings really need an upgarde to better resist the stalkers so they can better kill the important targets!
