It gets a bit easier if you delay doing this mission a bit, to get some units you wouldn't otherwise have if you did it right away. Such as the ghosts he uses.

@@Ghostly_One1 unit upgrades are one thing. but he also has mules, and automated refinery's. which get the economy booming verry early.

I'm replaying SC2 on brutal and landed on this mission, but I have starter units and such...man am I having my shit handed to myself lmao. I guess Ill try blocking the north entrance the way you did and see what happens...

i rushed this as soon as i could just for early siege tanks... worth it 100% and you can skip other missions to farm research from the Ihan crystal.

You can technically do most of the missions in the campaign before doing this one

By delaying this mission. In fact, it's the easiest way to handle this mission on Brutal difficulty, getting Ghosts or Stalkers with permanent cloak to create a wall only air units and Colossi can break through.

@@jarskil8862 It has Observers but on defensive positions. They will never send them to break your invisible wall, just to make you work a little to send some Nukes if you want to attack.
