Bro, stop apologizing for your level of play, i play high level amateur golf, if a pro comes to teach me the way you are helping us now, do you think i will complain cause he hits longer and better than me? of course NOT! i will be so grateful, so, THANKS A LOT, for taking the time to do this! cheers up!

Bro, I just had a game where I completely walked over a turtle skytoss, going double Spire with mass banelings like you showed in this series. As soon as I saw him building mass cannons I went up to 5 base 10 gas ASAP, droned up like crazy (up to almost 100 lol) and starting rolling banelings wave after wave while also gathering mass mutas and then corruptors. Fight wasn't even close, guy never once had the upper hand, which is to say, complete opposite to how games vs turtle skytoss usually went for me before. Hell, I'm only a lowly Plat 1 pleb at the moment and no doubt higher league protosses would still squash me but still pretty happy about this, so thanks a lot man. This series is great!

I stopped on the ladder back when Diamond was the top tier. Won some minor league tournaments and generally felt pretty good at the game. This series makes me want to get back into SC2 and try the ladder all over again. The game has clearly changed so much in the past decade, looks like a whole new adventure!

Hey man just want to say a massive thanks for showing us this 2 base fast muta build, whilst I don't use it step by step, it has helped me fill in a moment of gameplay where if I attack, it's suicide, but if I sit, I let the opponent set up their multi prong harass then I die. I'm winning more now and can see myself breaking out of Diamond 1 finally. It is also nice to see a more recent series of B2M/GM rather than being stuck with ones dates back many years ago. Your coaching and advices are great, I agree, relying on space cows at late game doesn't improve your gameplay, your 2 base fast muta build lets me practice mid game/lair tech units much more rather than relying on space cows as a surprise shock troop to hail mary a win. Deeply thankful and appreciate your time and wisdom in making this series and this build.

Great series! Tyvm. One note on the Magic Box explanation at the beginning - it shouldn't matter what units you have in your group and there is no box per say that you click inside or outside. The units take a line to where you click, so the further you click, the slower the lines converge as they travel to that point. (the less units clump)

Bronze to GM on the contrary is the best teaching tool which is why it’s so popular. It’s really hard to translate what we see in a higher level game to our lower leagues so stripping the game into its constituent parts is incredibly helpful. What’s more the different people making B2GM focus on different things and show how many moving pieces there really are. Your focus on aggression does something vibes series didn’t do as well: it demystifies the opponent. When your on there side running banes, lings, and mutas around everything gets laid bare and your choices become alot clearer and sharper. I can’t wait to start testing out what I’m learning from you and adding that to my strong base of knowledge from Vibes series.

Thanks for the cheese advice, it just won me a game in gold league vs a terran who blocked my natural with an ebay and went double proxy rax at my 3rd. I pulled the extra drone to head down to the 3rd when I saw the bay like you usually suggest, then when I spotted the two raxes, I took a breath and said, "BUILD AN OVERLORD FIRST," then went into zerglings, pulled a few extra drones to help, ran some extra lings into his unprotected base, and he GGed before I even cleaned up the two raxes. Great tutorials mate!

Hey Big P, I'm sort of new to the whole Bronze to GM concept (not only yours, I have also watched Winter's low APM's, and planning on watching Vibe's), and I find it amazingly rich in information. You have said B2GM are like the fast food of tutorials, not so nutritious but the most popular, and here I am wondering what can beat that amount of information ! You guys explain (so lovelingly, no homo) so many aspect of the game (playing mechanics, routines, match up, scouting, learning mechanics) across literal HOURS of videos, about which I duly take notes of, and go over and reorganize and try to get inspired by when I launch a few games, and fail to do anything right starting from proper macro cycles haha

about queing injects: isn't it a waste? I mean the hatch can produce larva only each and every time (25 sec or something)
@maisenovich
@maisenovich Жыл бұрын
Waste in what sense / context? If you are going to need that spare energy to transfuse something while defending an all-in push from opponent - it's definitely a waste to have that energy stacked up for "future dividends". If your queens are near maxed out on energy and you don't have APM to spend that on creep (or have too many queens because of early BC/void ray attack) - it's a waste not to stack up that energy into future injects and let them generate more. The key point of inject queueing preached by author however is in the fact that after ~8th minute mark there will be always some action, somewhere and it's great to build a habit to remember and dump extra energy into hatcheries that are not on inject rotation / macro cycle (only 3 are).

I think the advantage of B2GM is it breaks down what level you should be at. I can be a silver player and look at a video of a build order that I'm not ready to use, or detailed micro concepts that are going to help me in niche situations, and work on the wrong things. This is one thing I think ViBe does really well with his series, which is: here is what you need to focus on at this level. I do appreciate PiG's approach, as a different way to learn. But I do think you can slow down a little bit and think a little bit more like a beginner or struggling player.

I completely agree. This is really a version of B2GM for those who want to lean more towards serious/semi-professional SC2. I, as someone who was stuck in just past platinum (~3200 mmr), found this series to be super duper helpful. I think his audience self-selects for about this rank too. I kind of agree with PiG on this, that if you don't have a good amount of time dedicated to learning this game, if you only have 2-3 hours a week, you're better off learning another game. I, for reference, only started playing when I was unemployed, and after watching a few hours of Day[9] dailies and a month on the ladder, got gold. But I totally agree, if you're Bronze to Platinum (80% of players, he's missing out on btw), you should probably watch Vibe's B2GM. PiG kind of stated it at the beginning too. In a sense, this B2GM is a lot different from other B2GM, and I think there's a place for that, and that's probably a sound decision for PiG; to differentiate his B2GM. I can sympathize, too. I tried sending a replay teaching a simplified version of my build to a silver player friend, and as I slowed my play down and made worse decisions, having only played 3 games like that, that worse level of play persisted *weeks* after sending that replay pack to my friend.

@PiGstarcraft
@PiGstarcraft Жыл бұрын
They're either the most overpowered unit, or the most useless, depending on how they're used and how they're countered. They're way more accessible on the tech tree and more mobile than Broods, and the locusts have far higher DPS. Usually the goal is to get in from a sneaky angle, hit their economy hard, then rotate to a new angle and rinse and repeat. Once you get one good locust wave off it's often lights off for the other player. On the other hand if they catch your SH and they can't get in position to launch a good wave... they feel like dead weights

Amazing educational content that is still very much relevant, 1.5 years later. I regret not finding and consuming it sooner! Few things I'm disappointed about this particular episode: 1) lack of zerg opponents and zvz explanations (not your fault), 2) lack of notes and "set plays" in B2GM guide (comparing to previous videos in the series). A lot of times you make critical instant decisions (when to pull mutas out, what to prioritize in sniping) and don't explain the details. For instance, it would be great (for someone mastering 2-base muta play) to add to written notes the following: - How many mutas will have a decent (with proper micro) fight against .. > single turret / cannon / crawler? > 2 turrets / 2 cannons / cannon and battery / crawler and queen / 2 queens > single thor > 8 marines without stim > 8 marines with stim > 3 queens > 4 stalkers > any other typical defense you can see when play this build, for simplicity those could be split into "can beat with 5 starting mutas" / "can beat with 8" / "need 16+" categories - What is the top priority to attack when flying over enemy base with mutas (if those things are exposed or insufficiently defended for a decent fight, as per above)? E.g. > Workers > upgrades > reactor/tech lab > pylons > tech structure > etc I bet a guide like this exists somewhere in Teamliquid forums, if someone has a good link - please share! P.S. Bonus observation: you rely a lot on good questions during stream, but it's quite hard to both process the dense information you are sharing and analyze what else you see that is not being talked about. Only watching the video second time turned on this second, analytical, mode which generated questions above. I'm enjoying this build a lot on the ladder and looking forward to the next episode and new learnings!!

Some tips from ChatGPT (imagine future KZbin with built-in AI responding here): Q: In StarCraft 2, what is the attack priority when flying with mutas over terran base? A: In StarCraft 2, the general attack priority for a Mutalisk attacking a Terran base is to first target siege tanks, then buildings producing anti-air units (such as Starports), followed by bunkers, and then other structures. This priority allows the Mutalisks to minimize damage from anti-air defenses, allowing them to continue attacking the base. Q: In StarCraft 2, how many mutalisks will win against a photon cannon and a battery? A: The outcome of a battle between Mutalisks and Photon Cannons and Stalkers in StarCraft 2 depends on several factors, such as the player's micro (unit control) skills, upgrades, and the exact timing of the attack. In general, a single Photon Cannon is strong against air units, but several Mutalisks can quickly overwhelm a lone Photon Cannon if they are microed effectively. A group of Stalkers, however, will make the battle more difficult for the Mutalisks, as Stalkers are more mobile and can attack both air and ground units. The exact number of Mutalisks needed to defeat a Photon Cannon and a group of Stalkers will vary, but it is generally recommended to bring at least 6-8 Mutalisks to have a good chance of success. Q: In StarCraft 2, how many mutas defeat a single thor with proper micro? A: The number of Mutalisks needed to defeat a single Thor in StarCraft 2 will depend on the player's micro (unit control) skills, upgrades, and the exact timing of the attack. In general, Thors are very strong against air units and can easily take out several Mutalisks with their attacks. It is recommended to bring at least 8-10 Mutalisks to have a good chance of defeating a single Thor with proper micro. However, even with a large number of Mutalisks, defeating a Thor can still be challenging and requires precise unit control and good timing to avoid the Thor's attacks. Not a terrible advice! :)

Oh, the intuitive answer of "you have to try it out and figure out answers by yourself" is solid here as well, but not working in a context of B2GM series where I'd like to continue watching and thus change to the next build / set of recommendations, before spending weeks (it takes a lot of time with random opponents trying to kill you before you even get to mutas) figuring out this build. I still feel I haven't fully mastered the previous episode three-base ling-bane-muta variation and want to come back to it eventually.

I have to disagree with your take on bronze to gm being the McDonald’s of sc2 educational content, especially with your approach. This feels a lot more like really good introductory college lectures. It’s like having a professor that is incredibly passionate about their field that also truly cares about fostering that passion in their students, as opposed to just going through the motions and reading from PowerPoint slides. Sure, we still have to do our reading and homework, but it’s not possible to osmose every little minute detail. I’m definitely improving on my builds, timing and reads thanks to your teaching, but I think the more important thing I learned from you was how to enjoy the game. You may have the skills to be a high level player, but you have a gift for teaching. Thanks for doing this.

Agree. The biggest takeaway for me from this series so far has been to learn to not panic, to not get frustrated with things that don't go your way (respect your opponent), and to enjoy things that are working, things in my play that are improving incrementally from game to game (rewind game rule).
