The exploding protoss was Tassadar. He used both the templar and dark templar energies to sacrifice himself and destroy the first Overmind who was immortal. The scene with the explosion at the planet was from Shakuras. Zeratul and Artanis activated the xel'naga temple to clean Shakuras from the renegade zerg and this is the same temple that Arthanis used to destroy Shakuras in Legacy of the void. Stukov died but was later infected with zerg virus, cured and then infected again (it's from the books). He is the same Stukov from SC2. At the end the ship was returning to Earth but Kerrigan unleashed the swarm and destroyed them, later.

8:46 to 12:20 I always liked this cutscene it reminds you of how terrifying the Zerg truly are. (Also it is very much like Aliens)

Good old StarCraft, always a gem despise it many problems (that many old games suffered). And yeah, if you think some of the scenes in StarCraft 2 are hard to follow without knowing the context of the events going on, then this old thing is gonna be ten times harder to watch. Many of the scenes take place far apart from each other, and a lot of events in between did not get animated. They simply give you a page of text to read and some character dialogues to fill you in, then on to the mission we go. But hey, back in the days kids only care about the epic storytelling in which Blizzard always delivers, and it not about which game have better graphic than the other. I still feel the same today, no matter how great a game's cinematic are or how big of a budget they got, i would still preferred an Indie game if they have a better tale to told.

Lawrence, if you read the epilogue, you will know that every spaceship at the end were destroyed by the swarm. None of them came back to the earth alive. Truly a masterpiece is Starcraft!

In the end Mengks won, he died of course but he calculated that. He created the Dominion unifying all terrans under 1 cohesive banner, even Raynor now fights for it,His son his emperor. Mengks won

Starcraft 2 is like my little pony compared to Starcraft. Even though you said "well, you gotta start with something", Zerg, Protoss, Terran, the atmosphere, the design, everything looked so much better, right? Not to mention the dreadful feeling that has been lost in Starcraft 2. Blizzard wanted more money, so they made SC more child friendly, such a shame. :( Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying SC2 is bad, it's just...ok.

Where did you find this video? Whoever cut all the cinematics together removed a few seconds from the start of each. Specifically he removed the part where first some text blends in to tell you where the hell you are in the first place.

While Starcraft / Warcraft were inspired by the Warhammer/40k universe in general, Dawn of War came out many years after Starcraft.

Jim Raynor and Arcturus Mengsk are the only Starcraft characters whose voice actors remained the same, both for the first game as well as the second game and its 3 parts, 12 years later. Here is a video that shows them behind the scenes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3Org2tvpNZ6gdk Sarah Kerrigan's voice actress in the first game was good enough, but for the second game I have only rich praise for Tricia Helfer's take on this crucial character. Thank you for considering my suggestion of this video. I believe I've sent you one recently for a cinematic compilation for Starcraft 2: Nova Covert Ops which I am anxiously awaiting for you to react to soon.
