According to the file, after you destroy one zerg hive, the dialogue between Jim and Duke is triggered (and the zerg spawns and attacks you), and Tassadar arrives exactly 2 mins later. However, this mission is buggy and never fixed, so weird shit can happen. In this case, after 2 minutes, Jim talks to Duke again, and the Protoss arrives after another 2 minutes

Weird. I managed to win this scenario without triggering Tassadar.. Was disappointed to have spend so much time. So you can only attack the central base in order to trigger Tassadar?

This mission would have been between missions 6 and 7 in the original Terran campaign. In the original version, you would only have access to siege tanks, but no science vessels (they are introduced in level 7). Therefore, it "explains" the tech jump, having no introduction for siege tanks. Furthermore, it would also explain why Tassada and Kerrigan have met before ( as mention in mission 6 of the Zerg campaign). Too bad, the mission got cut :(

Agreed. I always felt that them “meeting” in New Gettysburg was a real stretch. It didn’t make any sense since she wasn’t “defending humanity from the Zerg” in that mission. She was defending the Zerg from the Protoss.

Even tho this mission was scrapped the map wasn't, its the excat same map layout as mission 2 of the enslaver's campaign.... It was also a sign that blizzard hadn't quite figured out how to lay out resources for early campaign missions untill brood war, scene the gas is so far away that you have to build a second command center. There are a few examples of inconvenient gas locations in the orginal game but this was the worst one

Thanks for showing this mission. So this is where Tassadar and Kerrigan first met. Always thought it was odd that they talked as if they've met before in Zerg mission 6.

I remember when I was young that this scenario in ladder one vespene geiser so I restarted the game up to the time that I spawned exactly in that starting point, built my base and won the game. The AI was unable to build any kind of big army without vespene. Good times 😄

hey i think i must of downloaded a modded broken version of this cause i just played and 2 things one when you start there is a second mineral patch taken over by a SECOND command center that is neutral and when i tried taking control of it it wouldnt let me, also the trigger was broken once i killed the hive in the same place you did it just forced my screen to stay there and i couldnt click or do anything.

There are three downloadable versions of this map: two from Nibbits, you played one of these versions (there is one updated version over another). I only played the updated version, but the colours are messed up, since you suppose to start with red and your foes are blue and orange. The other looks like having extra elements, and extra units, and a white (Alpha Squadron) ally, but it's broken as you can't capture your ally. This is available in staredit. I don't know about triggers, a commenter said below the staredit version breaks when you destroy the hive. I think the starting units makes more sense in this version, the Nibbits one only have a basic command center and 4 scvs. And the vespene field is so far away. Can you help me whas should I do to play the proper version? I can't use the SCM Draft 2 editor, as it only allows scx extensions for this map, meaning it's only available in Brood War.

It's in the original. It's "hidden" because it doesnt show up in the campaign. Some people extracted the map file from the game like 10 years ago. You then play that map file as a Custom Game

You know what would be awesome? If we could somehow create our own campaign missions and briefings. This mission kinda feels like a custom mission made by a fan. Somehow with using some kind of voice manipulation software that can mimic the voices of anyone and have your own Starcraft story however you like. Imagine having your own name and army being talked about in the briefings by the voice actors lol

It's a hidden map. Basically, you need to datamine it and play it using Custom Maps setting Or, you search (and I that I mean google) for somebody who uploaded the map file and download it

unknownman115 There are 4 in total: 2 terrans, 1 zerg and 1 protoss. Only the 2 terran missions are worth playing though. The zerg mission was supposed to be a tutorial, but the map is literally 2 empty bases with no resources. The protoss mission is an alternative version of protoss campaign mission one, where your main base has a slightly different layout
