UEDAIP, created by Nekron, is a mod for StarCraft Remastered created to make the existing StarCraft campaigns fun even for more experienced players by enhancing and improving them in a variety of ways with: personified, custom AI scripts for both enemies and allies that are faithful to their faction, a day/night cycle, a completely new UED tech tree, cached bank data and alternate win conditions which affect later missions, and more! This mod gives opportunities for players to improve their macro and creates situations in which they can improve their micro, forcing them to use casters, or just letting them have more fun in their favorite missions.

The SCV execution is indeed a workaround for something, and a very awkward one at that - the AI sometimes freezes workers when starting new towns, having them on rotation (executing if staying in one place for too long) fixes this The huge problem I have with allied AI power is that when it's competent it can make maps feel very hard to balance - if Duke lockdowned all mech and always had full bunkers, you would never need to think about defense -- unless I made attacks significantly stronger, but then meeting them midway is a death sentence etc etc... There is a good compromise to be found for sure, that I might have missed more than not -- A couple of improvements I can for sure implement is 1. Adding code to ensure the Player has no less than X goliaths, X tanks etc, like you said and 2. Modifying attack code to make it more powerful with more beacons (just spam more marines since he gets more and more barracks) and 3. Either some actual lockdown use from Duke or 3rd beacon he gets a Starport and can rebuild missing Sci Vessel/something to that effect The current code for reinforcements is super simple and effectively random (do_morph works only once and only if there are very few other requests) :reinforcements wait 1025 do_morph 1 vulture wait 1025 do_morph 1 goliath wait 1025 do_morph 1 siege_tank goto reinforcements So that will just have to be rewritten to account for what the Player actually owns etc. The other buffs (+ making his attack deadline shorter to make sure he doesn't "idle" with units, since that tends to annoy players, I notice) I think are fine too but I probably wouldn't be comfortable committing to them unless I also make sure the last enemy alive keeps being a threat ad infinitum almost, since if it's just a siege of their base then IMO the map becomes boring I really like that bank idea - I didn't do anything like it though :( Just didn't come to my mind at the time really, I think I might've been getting excited at the prospect of working on vZerg already. It's a good point that if it were there, it should be communicated somehow. As such, nothing special happens if you don't get all beacons, I think they just get force-given to Duke right now. The main point of his expos is ensuring he can get SCVs naturally + barracks

@@hypotheticalaxolotl nah it's fair to point out that this might be frustrating; though i'll note that sometimes the investment that some stuff like this may need to iron out doesn't feel worth it, when i might as well do a whole new map in the same amount of time (not for this particular example, but there have been cases like this in the past)

This was one of the most engaging SC1 missions I've ever seen. Well done Jay and Bone Horror!

Okay, a bit of explanations here. The Science Facility has an aura, similar to the upgraded Barracks, that heals nearby friendly units at a fairly rapid pace. It's not restricted to the Beacon, I think that's just there to signpost it as "IMPORTANT BUILDING HERE". As for Duke, I can confirm that he does BUILD the units you receive, and they're not just replacement, as evidenced by the number of Tanks Jay accumulated. He will, however, only ever give you Factory units - none of which he keeps for himself. If you lose that Science Vessel, it's irreplaceable. Duke does have a SUBSTANTIAL bank, and doesn't rely on mining, though it doesn't hurt.

The secret maps were awesome i remeber extracting them from the mpq file i belive it was called years ago. SAucks they were nvr added to the game but i digress. GG M8 GN

40:46 I haven't played in a while, but as far as I remember, there is no need to cloak defense matrix'd units, as d-matrix reveals them.

Kinda curious Jay, are you a fan of CarbotAnimations? If so you should play some of the campaigns with the Carbot skin. I dont think it would interfere with any mods and can be quite funny xD

Place the vanilla folder in the maps, launch the game using the vanilla.exe, then go to custom game, pick the map from there
