The "Factories" counter refers to "Production structures", not Terran Factories. Confusing SC1 terminology. It periodically displays Stargates owned instead, the counter changes every 30 seconds or so. BC Yamato is explosive, it deals 150+70 damage in vanilla - 100 to shields and 60 to (small) HP of a Photon Cannon I don't think my BC changes were ever popular, and indeed they can still be massed with some success, but I do still think that they still are less binary overall - A single UEDAIP BC can be used to support an army way better than original ones, and having a mass of BCs is simultaneously less counterable by Dark Swarm and harder to keep alive vs units that don't conveniently fall into a line (without the Player microing) Similarly their spread-out AA attack is to make them worse at instadeleting air units The botleft town looks OK in-editor and when AI uses it most of the time, idk why SCVs spread out like that; I'll try to tweak the layout to be less trash if someone wants to take it The weight of the botright town as a target is really small before ~25 in-game minutes, but it can get hit. Originally this map was way different, but it turns out that having the AI literally play a mission on similar rules (mines resources from scratch, needs expanding) always made the map too easy - it was trivial to deny Blue expansions, or kite away his trash slow protoss units with vultures, or just marine spam him to death. I couldn't find a right balance between what Zerg do and what the Protoss need to do. So, he doesn't do that, instead he's just more on a clock (albeit a relatively slow one), which I guess may be really frustrating

Different story but unlike BCs Carriers don't have a merit-per-price even for support role with that armor/HP.

Hey, Nekron, Quick question: Are the Dragoons firing a quick burst of two shots before returning to their normal fire rate every now and then, or am I just seeing things?

@@alexbridden1594 They're firing single shots Maybe it looks like a burst because in Starcraft 1, attack cooldowns are random; if after the 1st shot the next one gets -1 frame CD, and another gets +2 frame CD it looks like the first two ones are significantly closer together than the next one (the random range is from -1 frame to +2 frames, 24 frames = 1 fastest second)

@@UEDAIP Oh, ok. Thanks for clarifying. It looked like they were shooting the first two shots after acquiring a new target a bit faster, I thought it might be an ability that you added.

One key thing that makes this map very frustrating is the ridiculous amount of power the Protoss has and invests in taking over map control. I couldn't beat the map without holding down the bottom island expansions, using bunkers, missile turrets, whatever I can muster with the meager amount of ore left to deny them the expansions. Afterwards it was also easy to take the remaining BCs, though it is absolutely necessary to steal like 3 in the very beginning. Battlecruisers are also somehow extremely useful in this mission, I smashed the Protoss base after building a few more and sending them all in

I love how the Dragoons are basically Protoss Hydralisks. I can't wait to try those out for myself once Nekron starts on the Protoss missions. The Protoss tech in general looks really cool based on what I've seen from the Zerg missions.

The only problem with this mission was beacon trigger that makes your marines in dropship exchanged with one unit at a time. You send a dropship with full 8 marines to beacon and only get one wraith while that beacon is charged with 3 wraiths. I think this is mostly SC 1's fault than anything Nekron did.

it's both, I could fix it if I wanted (but I don't since it's a lot of menial work that I hate), but it's also on the location trigger system being so unbearably stupid that it takes units in transports this way I will probably need to fix it at one point

Yeah, unfortunately it's a bug with how the game identifies units in transports. The trigger does specify to only remove one marine, but I THINK that so long as they're in the dropship, the game only actually registers one unit, so when it tries to remove one marine, there's only one unit there, and something goes wonky and it removes ALL the marines in the dropship while thinking it's only removing one.

Aaand.. it is still on space platform tileset. Not on Tarsonis/Mar Sara.

Of course, that's canon. Stopping the protoss fleet in orbit while the zerg warp in and land on the planet.

canonically correct that it happens on the platforms, because Duke set up the emitters on the platforms (cut content happened on the surface, and this campaign particularly shows them on that mission. however in the actual game it happens in the big push, so it is safe to assume that in this campaign it's both the surface and the platforms. probably the actual bulk of zerg is on the surface)
