This tournament was the tipping point, after which the casters finally got the memo that Serral was the #1 StarCraft 2 player in the world. But during the game, they don't quite realize it yet... Unlike a lot of other human beings, Serral seems to be relentless about learning from his mistakes. From IEM Katowice 2018, he seems to have realized that the only remaining major weakness in his game was dying to cheese. So he probably went home and played 1000 reps against every kind of cheese there was. He was downing cheddar, American, gruyure, blue, Swiss, you name it. That cannon rush of SoS was doomed from the moment he decided he was going to try it. There is a fine balance between underreacting to aggression and overreacting, and I think Serral realized he needs to lean slightly towards overreacting and relying upon his godlike macro to keep him from falling behind economically. Now that he's got the machine calibrated he's put the rest of the SC2 world on notice.

@@Jamano244 Because they are 5v5 MOBA games. It is expected that they will be more popular than Starcraft, a 1v1 game. Less social, more stress, greater skill required, more mechanics and strategy. As someone who has played both genres a lot, I would say that what Starcraft I BroodWar managed to achieve in the 2000s is much more than what Lol and Dota have achieved so far.
