Thank you GMG! Definitely recommend updating, the vari-speed positive only option is really interesting too, although you lose the reverse, you gain all that extra negative pitch, really interesting for sound design/mangling!

Thank you Zeyon. The noise was unintentional, as I think I set the recording gain too low on the Morphagene, glad it didn't ruin it too much. I subbed to your channel btw, some nice ambient over there!

State Azure the noise added a lovely warming element. All of my compositions are based on noise textures and then tones. The Morphagene gives off a hollow tube like noise as the Phonogene gives off a metallic artifact. Cassettes, reel to reels, clouds, Morphagene, Phonogene are my favorites playback machines with character and noise. Leaving cassettes in my truck in 120 degree weather is making my ambient textures really warbly, stretched and worn. The distortions are ghostlike and often change so I learn to hit record more often ;) Great composition, very nostalgic vibe.

Don't worry Jason, I still don't understand it fully haha. I just load up nice samples on it and play the knobs :) I've barely scratched the surface on things like slicing/sound on sound looping etc

Awesome! Of all the new features the gene smooth option is that one I'm most interested in. Of course, I haven't yet done the update. I'm horrible about getting around to that sort of thing.

Thanks Mike. Yeah that's a neat option, as is the Omod. I need to play around with the Varispeed and Input options soon too, they also look quite fun. The update caused me a bit of a headache, but it's well worth it.

Hi Chris, I went through my old reels and couldn't find this particular one. So I think I recorded over it by accident unfortunately. Usually I save all the reels back onto my PC for keeping, sorry about that! Hope you enjoy your Morphagene, it's a fantastic module once you figure out the basics.

wonderful ambient piece, I really like to see a performance fron you only based on the MG, I think I was waiting for that! magnificient ambience and always very well balanced... :) though I'm not sure to really understand what's the new firmware "gene smoothing" option, I'll have to figure it out!
