If you have a ship with a lot of cargo space, you can make that ship your home ship, transfer a buttload of stuff into it, then go back to having your favorite ship as a home ship, and all that stuff will be transferred to the smaller ship automatically, even if it's WAY more than the ship can hold. This does not affect the ship in any way, other than not letting you put anything else in it, obviously. You can do this every time you want to unload your character's inventory.

One little secret I've discovered is... At the beginning, before your character creation when you are mining with Linn and Heller. When Heller is talking about strange gravity readings, instead of going up that little incline, instead, go to the left and down the slope. At the bottom, hug the right wall until you see a discoloration in the rock that doesn't look like the surrounding rock. Blast it open with your cutter and inside, you'll find a souvenir NASA cup and a few nodes of Europium to mine. Also, while you're down there, you can look around and find some Neodymium to mine.

Another tip I can't stress enough: The PAYLOADS skill under Tech. While it LOOKS like it's something related to missiles it Actually is just flat out giving you +10/20/30/50% cargo space for your ship. Which, considering how you can easily get to 2k cargo already with a few modules, is a huge increase without adding any mass. Enjoy.
@DominusNox106 Жыл бұрын
Same recommendation but added with picking up guns. I'm swimming in ammo.
@Duvoncho Жыл бұрын
On top of this I noticed that the Payloads bonus stacks! For example: If you have Payloads rank 1, you get the 10% cargo bonus as expected. But if you then recruit a crew member who also has payloads 1 (either the dude from that Mars side quest or a random generic 'payloads specialist'), then the 10% from the 2nd Payloads rank 1 also applies on top.
@Fransens Жыл бұрын
@@Duvoncho THAT is really good to know! I was wondering how and what actually stacks with crew skills since the fucking things are never properly explained in detail. It honestly turned me off so bad about caring at all about crew members. So yeah, your info helps a ton. Thanks!

@@alphawolves8809 It's true, but I hesitate to call it a good ship. For its size and mobility, its cargo hold capacity is rather low, as the ship has lots of small capacity holds instead of the larger, more space/mass efficient ones. In addition, the ship has a staggering 2800 units of fuel, which is horrendous overkill - remove all but one of them, which will shave off a lot of mass for more mobility, cargo capacity, or both. On top of that, the ship is a maze and a half and needs a serious hab redesign to not get lost trying to get to the cockpit or relevant Habs.

If I may add one to the list: After powerleveling via Adaptive frames, I noticed that weapons have levelscaled alternatives. Thus, a shiny Legendary from the start of the game can easily be overshadowed by a normal modified gun doing 3x or 4x the base dmg down the line. Same with armor. That makes Weapon Upgrading both more and less important, as you can always hope to just power on to the next tier or allows you to quickly modify a new tier weapon to replace an older version once available.

Infact I made a couple of builds based on the show like a Mal good hearted scoundrel, a Zoe officer build, a Hoban (aka a leaf on the wind) pilot build, Derrial priest build , my favorite is The operative Charismatic assassin build is ridiculous fun between charming or intimidating my enemies with my melee stealth build or straight up killing them kill bill style. However if that's to much Firefly I did make a joke character Called the Large Marge space trucker build witch played out better than I expected.

Probably the easiest way to do space combat is use particle beam weapons and turrets. Place the turrets facing the side or rear, this’ll catch any ship passing or chasing you. Then place your particle beam weapons together into a quasi main cannon or cannons. Don’t know if particle beam turrets benefit from both turret skill and particle beam skill but you don’t have interact with them at all so best used as a tail gunner

Small tip to expand on ship swapping for overflowed cargo so if you have a ship with 10k cargo fill it and swap to a ship with 400 cargo the 10k will go onto the smaller ship as some of you may know. But make sure you have an ample amount of ship parts as you won't be able to pick any up which can make repairing your ship in combat a hassle.

Another thing you wish you knew is: you want only one ship weapon and that is particle beams. Especially early on when you don't have enough power for two weapon systems. Particle beams do decent damage against both shields and hulls.

I also found for whitewashing items like recources you could (not always) just drop the item like lets say 50 stolen copper and when picking it up again from the ground they are no longer stolen... i use it alot for ammo and recources but i find that when in bigger quantities or with some certain items it wont work, but it's a great quick move to secure some items

Late to the party, but here's a few tips if you prefer controller. 1) Set jump to clicking the left stick and crouch to right stick click. Just do it, it'll be weird at first, but makes things so much easier. Can aim faster when flying, and eva is so much easier to control. 2) Change ship weapons to LT, RT and LB. Keep thrusters on RB. 3) Set sprint to LB and power to RB. Grenades to LB+RB. Encourages much more power use. Plus having two buttons for grenade feels like pulling the pin and throwing for RP reasons. B for punch. I know I have more that make the game so much better, but can't think of them atm.

One trick I found out through personal experimentation is this. Cycle your weapons if you're using auto-weapons. This also probably applies to single-shot weapons, but not nearly to the same degree. Let me explain. Instead of firing both at the same time and having down periods where you aren't pumping out damage, fire one when the other is low and let the depleted weapon recharge. Rinse and repeat and you will have better results, generally, than if you just pumped the damage out in one go. The moment I figured this out I went from dying or losing all my parts every single combat I was in, to usually scraping by.

Another tip i found helpful is not every legendary and epic gun doesn’t mean it’s better than a rare or uncommon gun, the only way you’ll get super high physical damage gun is by looting and opening the hexagonal sphere chest you get after taking over an enemy facility or after a big story mission. Going to planets with abandoned outpost are one of the best ways to have a good firefight and you can go to different planets for hours looting really good guns but obviously try and go to higher level systems

I bought the Rambler, and discovered that a ship having only two weapons (in this case particle beams and missiles) actually does work really well. I loved the Rambler so much that with my pirate character I instantly bought the Haunt (a pirate version of the Sparrow class) when I got the chance, and with my UC character I changed out the Frontier’s weapons replacing the lasers with particle beams and the projectile weapon with an EM weapon, which I always keep powered down except on the rare occasion I want to capture a ship, effectively making it a two weapon ship mostly (since I rarely use it, the EM weapon gets the Y button on my controller - I prefer using the controller even though I play on the PC).

Here would be my basic tips: 1. Get your piloting up. Always be working towards the next rank. 2. Dont bother with outposts until you get to new game plus. Its not that you cant do it sooner its that the new game plus resets essentially everything but level, skills, and powers. 3. Get more cargo space on your ship. Its a big deal for inventory management. On a side note always destroy enemy ships from low level to high and keep an eye out on capturing that final ship in each engagement. There are several really big ships you can capture that have massive cargo. Look for the one that looks like it has a bunch of cargo containers. I got one of those and it had 3400 cargo stock. 4. Unless you plan on role playing pistols are a waste of time. Go rifles. There are plenty of very nice rifles to choose from and ammo will be plentiful. 5. If you plan on going new game plus at some point do yourself a favor and pick skills in the first play through that will speed you up substantially in a second run. If something is a quality of life skill take that. Piloting, weight capacity increasing, persuasion, lock picking, weapon modding, starship design are all top tier choices. 6. Powers. Im not going to mention how many or what they do, but do yourself a favor and keep doing the related quests until you cant do them anymore BEFORE continuing the main quest. There is a limit to how many you can do per game and you will have to do multiple games to get them all.

Because they played the game - most people just seem to be reviewing it, and based on the ridiculous amount of people saying the same thing despite it being a dumb statement (like complaining about load screens in a game with 1000ish planets + star stations that all have different gravities, rotations and environments and would have taken much longer to release if they didn't implement the load screens) whilst not even seeming to notice the problems that exist when you actually play it - like the non event that is the wedding ceremony - makes me think they're all just regurgitating what got someone else views. It's rare to find a video that is original by someone who is actually PLAYING it, not just sprinting through enough to produce clickbait 😮💨 And yes i know that's a rant, it's just really annoying me

If you add a couple Habs with a lot of containers that can hold things and use a cockpit with a captains locker... you can store a bunch of stuff in those containers then modify your ship(literally just add a plate or change paint or something and save) and it'll auto store all of that stuff into your cargo hold.... regardless if you're already maxed out(similar to just putting a bunch of stuff in the cargo hold of a ship with a ton of storage then switching to a smaller storage ship, just without having to switch ships). Conversely you can literally just... drop it all on the floor of your ship and modify your ship and itll pull everything into the cargo hold the same way.
