Every suit they make or you pay for should be added to the leveled lists so it appears on enemies, allies, and in stores. Adding suit variety is a great way to spice up the game.

Yeah, and even The Escape is extremely expensive compared to traditional DLC but it's at least a full experience, I won't lie the value proposition of games and traditional dlc has always been great (as in playtime/money) but I don't want a world where buying a questline costs as much as going to the cinema tbh. The Escape is still fine to me though as long as normal DLC still exists

I don't really mind paying for certain mods. And I'd probably pay a dollar or maybe 2 dollars for this and not think too much about it. But 5 bucks for one suit feels a bit like they're trying to see what they can get away with haha.

If it's heavily modded, I want to EARN it. That could be a handmade quest or even just putting it in an area that I'll have to battle my way through. To me, the is nothing more unfun than starting the game with overpowered gear

Great review as always. I like the suit and decided to grab it. I agree with your observation on the price as being too high,but I think I understand their logic. If you are playing a vanilla no mod character, only Bethesda creations allow you to continue getting achievements. I don’t know the numbers, but I would guess there are a lot of players that don’t ever use mods. This allows players to expand their in game inventory without sacrificing achievements and Bethesda may think charging a premium for that option is acceptable. I created a no mod vanilla character for Shattered Space and may wear it in my play-through. Just my thoughts.

Uh... the info splash screen has me worried. 500 Bethesda Bucks, one space suit... Then I see: no quest, no cosmetic skins... Ugh... Sure, Carry Assist and O2 Filter were effects I kept on my armor to increase my range of motion, but $5 to get a suit in a plastic box? Bethesda can't apply any of the money they get from ESO, Fallout 76, or their cut of all microtransactions of 'Creations' to have a staffer or two put earnest effort into these and expand their value?

Just wanted to let you know that in Bethesda’s notes for Shattered Space you have to complete One Small Step then after that you make a jump to any system that is not part of a quest and you will get a signal from the Star Station Oracle to travel there to start the DLC

I like the retro style and even like the funky retro helmet which is my favorite part but that price is just ridiculous.... 100 credits yes, 200 maybe but 500 well that's just sad.....

I know we've got shattered space coming up I don't think anybody can stop talking about it LOL but I feel like if BGS is going to release a paid mod, it should be more than just a suit.. I mean they got a whole creative think tank of modders, and that's all they can come up with? I think we all know that there are far better Space Suits in the game already I may be overstating that a little bit, because I don't know firsthand just by watching all I see what's going on.. but there's some really great legendary suits in the game, and that new mantis suit mod was far better than what we're seeing here.. and that wasn't even Bethesda. I think you guys are right, they're going to try and see what they can get away with, but they've got to do far more to impress us! What do we actually want to see?

I have been using this suite for my space cowboy freestar captain character I really like it. The bulky suit with big round helmet reminds of the spacesuits worn by the Nostromo crew in the first Alien (1979) movie but the chest piece and coloring reminds of the spacesuits worn by the astronauts in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) leading me to think whoever made this took inspiration from both movies.

There definitely are „better“ space suits than this one in base-game from an armor stat standpoint at least! The superior trackers alliance space suit has 208 physical resistance and nearly 190 on the other two damage types for example. This one might be the best for „non advanced/superior“ variants though!

This is a bit off-topic, but have you reviewed Konata_Inoue's "Playable Civilian Clothing"? Granted I know it's more vanilla than your other choices, but I'm not really into mods that stray away from the games world. According to the modder, the outfits "do not body weight morph"...I take that to mean they don't stretch with body customization. In any case, you're my go to before I try any mods. I gave your page a look over, but I'd really like to see how well the mod functions. Keep up the great work, bro!

I bought the suit(the shame) I thought the price was high but I’m not mad about it. If I’m going to play a modded play thru I want spend time doing the quest RP style and not worry about trying to find the best in slot loot.

"Civilian" Suit is crammed with military modifications. Honestly, it needs to be in the base game with dirt poor stats as a scenery suit like the Ground Crew set.

This suit just makes me more annoyed that we don't have any way to customize the appearance of any spacesuits in-game; I really like to color scheme of this. I def won't be buying it though; there's not even a quick quest.

It's a really bad deal however you look at it. We can get Escape for the same price. Even better, you can get 33 new Spacesuit colour schemes for 800 from Wulfy, which makes them look completely different

Is it worth it? (For me) No, most of the paid mods ain’t worth it, there are some but not many. I read something about shattered space: ACCESSING AND STARTING SHATTERED SPACE: To start playing the Shattered Space expansion, players must complete the introductory mission of the main quest, One Small Step. After you’ve completed One Small Step, the first time players grav-jump to an orbit that is not used by a mission or encounter, they will receive a distress call and discover a large star station, The Oracle. players must complete the introductory mission of the main quest, One Small Step. So, does that mean if you do a new game + and skip the main quest you can’t play shattered space ? Sure looks that way.

I also don't like the aesthetics of the helmet. I prefer transparent faceplates and smaller helmets. I do think that Bethesda price is effectively sets a ceiling price for all the other moders and that Bethesda should stay at the high end of pricing. That's said, you're looking at this as five euros for a suit, I honestly look at it as three unique legendaries for 5 euros, which is right around correct

So, Bethesda has come out with a Deep Sea Diving suit, that if you want to outfit your crew you need to 'cheat' instead of manufacturing or purchasing at the TA. Thanks for the commentary @Crimson, but I'm going to save my money for the other mods out there!

Im fairly certain this is based on the space suit from Alien so thats why it seems a bit out of place. As to why its so OP its because they dont have it added to the level list so peple will complain if it has garbage stats and theres no way to get a better version. Personally I believe they should overhaul the customization system so you can move legendary effects around and do light/medium/heavy versions of suits or at least modify the base stats in more meaningful ways.

It would be helpful for a very low level player that doesn't want to farm a better suit, but has five bucks they want to get rid of, it's freaking ugly though, very cartoon like, makes me think of Buzz Lightyear.

Maybe this is the work of Bethe's newly recruited staff. The design and details are not of quality for base game. Or maybe this is one of cut contents from base game as well as the Water Cooled Miner suit, which is supposed to be used for Azami.

kind of reminds me of the Nostromo crew suits but with a salmon color. 500 credits is too high I understand what it takes to get these models into the game from the art creation side, but still too high imo

Bethesda should've added a dialogue option to the merchant so that you can purchase the key to the spacesuit display. This just seems lazy ontop of lazy.

@@starbirbs5128 I remember a year ago when I started playing Starfield. I thought I check out Nexus for mods. I typed in the search “black”. I get a crap ton of results 😂. It made me very happy that I’m not the only one that feels this way. The only thing I ask the gaming industry is that if you’re going to put out a game where you have customization. Make sure they put an option in the game where you can change the color of clothing, armor and weapons. And as for modders that are charging for these mods? If you want me to buy your mod? Put an option in it where I can choose black. That’s all I ask. Or I’ll take my business somewhere else. I wont complain. I’ll just walk away. It’s like a car dealership. True story. I walk in. Ask if they have this model in black? They replied “no”. I ask “ can you order one in black”. They said “no”. I said “ thank you for your time”. Later on I found one in black. Then I was happy 😊.
