I'm waiting for somebody to make a stairs/ramp HAB mod because I find it to slow to climb ladders and it's so easy to fall down the hole in the floor like you just had in this video

@@L0X4 It already exists and the only reason I haven't done a showcase of it yet is because it's huge. There's so many pcs in that Mod it'll take either one really long video or multiple to show it all. Hey everyone, I'd like to make a retraction. Let me clarify 2 video's ago i made a comment that this mod effected ALL ships in game, and that you wouldn't be able to walk thru NPC generated ships because the mod removed their doors (at least in my experience at that point). Since then I've done a complete uninstall of all of my game files and mods and a complete fresh reinstall. While doing this I trimmed out several mods which I realized were effectively trying to do the same if not similar functions thru the ship builder. Since then I'm happy to say that any issues i was having with this mod have now seemed to been fixed and I am able and free to pirate and highjack any NPC vessel which i have come across. I apologize for any confusion or hesitation my previous comment may have stirred up, and would like to fully endorse this mod as a much needed and hugely game changing innovation.

I don't either but I felt it important to clarify my mistake in the Tutorial video once the Mod author informed me of the correct method.

Where in the load order should this mod be? only the doors and ladders are showing up for me. when I delete the vanilla habs, the "doors no included" version of the habs, aren't available for me to install, just vanilla habs. am I missing something?

There's no mention of load order on the Creations page for this Mod. You'd probably be best asking the author directly on Nexus, link is in the description and pinned comment.

And I meant no disrespect to Jimsoon, that's just what I do, I test things then try and show my results to the viewer. Testing it like I did also made it brute force my brain to understand it solidly.

@@delindsay I didn't find it disrespectful at all. You gave info the best you could, and he gave you more info, so then you try it out and show us. Simple. the more we know from these type of guide video the easier is it for us players, esp us senior citizen players 😆

Clear as a Starborn's visor. But it does make a bit more sense. I haven't had a chance to look at the code itself, but maybe (one day) we can get to a point of click ladder start point and stretch to where you want it to end. However, if the modules are kept in memory as separate levels that point from one to the other, that might not work. I'm still just tickled pink in being able to place doors/hatches/shutters where *I* want them. :)

Le sigh. I got Starfield on my series s and was wholly unimpressed with it. Recently I got a PC and this mod would be amazeballs to have, but I’m not sure I want to bother with the rest of the game to get to the point where I can build any ship I want. I remember being psyched for outpost and ship building but finding them unnecessary and therefore pointless to set up

I love this mod and just need to be able to assign my crew to specific beds and stations. I didn't use any holes or additional ladderswhen I was testing them and I'm pretty sure they just spawned straight up for me. I didn't climb any of them except the hole which I immediately jumped up through when I got to it. The hole is great easy access between my bridge and the 1x1 connected to my docker and bay.

I also love putting just the Hole between 2 Decks, works perfectly.

So. Stupid question. If I have a 3x ladder, can I still get off at the 2nd floor?

Yeah, just like normal. It just auto-dismounts you AT Level 3.

Thanks for the clarification. Probably won't use it because the ankle break is why I don't like ladders that go more than 1 level in my ships. Also makes my head swimmy. This mod is really needed.

HA! Yeah, I should've boosted on that one lol. And totally, I almost never make Ships more than 2 stories for the very reason I don't like the Ladder climbs (even if for me it's purely a time issue).

I sometimes go 3 floors but the ladders are in different places. I always like to have a ladder at the back of the ship to go up and down. Usually in a companionway.

@@wolfhors3_660 Hell, with 'Hole' you could do a single spot in that back 1x1 then another somewhere else for Deck 3. I found out that NPC's will just teleport up and down anyway.

@delindsay yep, I was doing thst almost every where instead of a ladder. Now, because most of my ships are big, I just stack a couple of 1x1s and stick the ladder in there. Man, I really love building ships. I got a mod that lets you flip structures and stuff in any direction. Very nice.

@@wolfhors3_660 I've seen the Creations Mod to rotate Structural pcs, just haven't done a video yet because there's a LOT of pcs in that set.

I need ur help. I installed this mod and tried to edit on of my existing ships but the game keeps crashing when I back out of the ship editor. Know of any fixes?

Did you happen to place (2) Doors on the SAME location, as in Port and Stbd or Fore and Aft for the exact same hole? I did that at first and it cased crashed and falling through the world. The only way I could fix it was disable the Mod, switch Ships, fly to a city and sell the Ship I f'd up then start over. If you need more detailed help, please use the link I provided to the Nexus page for this Mod and ask the creator himself.

@@delindsay after it crashed the first time I meticulously placed a single door where needed so I know I didn’t use double doors. The mod states that it removes current doors and ladders but when I go into shop editor it’s still reads “Nominal” in the bottom right corner even though there is no cockpit access from the docker/landing bay. I figured the game doesn’t know how to process this and just crashes so I made sure I placed a door where needed but it still crashes. I’ll definitely ask the mod creator so thanks for the direction. I really don’t want to delete the ship cos I’ve spent countless hours decorating it

@@KA6ED On the access to the Docker, I think you might be correct. My test Ship (1st video where I just showcased the Mod) has everything within reach of the Cockpit. The Ship in this video is my test rig and during the How To video, had NO access to the Docker but worked. Once I realized it, I made certain to path directly to the Docker and it still worked so something odd going on for sure.

@@mattt233 I've read those threads on the Steam forums. Though, I don't know if there's a specific "fix all" for it yet and no word that I've seen from BGS about an incoming fix.
