And to think Microsoft forced Bethesda to delay the release of Starfield to fix it. How much worse was everything going to be if Todd Howard was allowed to publish when he originally wanted to?
@Lovinmc69420Ай бұрын
When did they say Microsoft forced them to delay? I thought Bethesda wanted to delay and Microsoft was pressuring them to release it earlier because they needed more exclusive titles . I mean I’m not defending starfield but I thought it was the other way around

Starfield is also pretty polished outside of KZbin clips. Its the setting, weak story and lack of content that make me dislike it.
@Random_BansheeАй бұрын
@@FortressLordJP193Wouldn‘t say polished, optimization is atrocious, terrain glitches are pretty common, item hitboxes are all over the place, weird duplication of persistent objects happens all the time, switching weapons breaks the engine and causes microstutters, quests don‘t update correctly to a point where the game literally asks you to talk to a person who just died in the same instance. I‘m usually very tolerant to bugs, don‘t even recognize many as such, just figure out a workaround and apply it. But in this game it‘s been genuinely bad, and very noticable. It also lacks core features, for example ground vehicles. Spamming the same 'jetpack > run > cast personal atmosphere' loop for multiple minutes in order to just get anywhere at all is ridiculous, all because you can neither control your starship in atmosphere to land manually, nor can you at least pick an accurate landing spot. Don‘t get me wrong, i very much like the game, but it isn‘t ready, not even remotely.

Lacks core features is what people say when the one aspect that they wanted isn't in the game. That's not a core feature; it's wishful thinking. Like wishing you could turn your life around and be sheriff in RDR2, or even have some choices. Not every game can have everything. Look at what is in the game: mining, ship building, ships you can walk around in and live in, space combat, outpost building, top quality gunplay, planetary and star system rotation. Those are core features, and ones that are missing from most space games; but there's only so much time and resources for a $70 game. Vehicles and flying onto planets weren't a priority, because most people didn't care. No Man's Sky for example let's you spend five minutes landing on planets because that was the game. There was no story, no missions, no space combat, no points of interest on the planets, no real ships. That experience was the game. I've played 750 hours, and frankly I don't recognize your description of the bugs. It wasn't, but now is, well optimized. The worst bug I've had is ships not opening on landing, and the occasional glitched terrain. Which is to be expected, given each area is ten times the size of Skyrim, and it isn't like anyone could go over 100,000 sq km of terrain to check the terrain on each planet. Hopefully, it will improve. And you can run 1000m in a minute, most stuff is 500m away, so how far were you running? Other that surveying, there isn't much need to run around on planets.

Until they are game breaking and you have to go through your saves to figure out why you're falling through the floor of the city and how it's related to there now being two of your ship in the same landing spot and how it results in a soft lock when you try to enter it/them and fly away.

I would rather buy Skyrim and Fallout 4 re-releases over and over again than waste a single dime on Starfield. This game is an absolute disaster not even modders can Save it.
@harrasika16 күн бұрын
I really dislike this whole "modders will fix" sentiment. No game can be saved by modders. If a game is bad, then no modder is gonna work on it because why work on a game that you don't like. If a game is good, modders are gonna be motivated to make it even better, because they want to make a game they already like even better.
@solesurvivor11116 күн бұрын
@@harrasika I know what you mean. Its true that Bethesda games have always had issues but even without modding you could have fun with them. With Starflop it's the opposite. Even without modding the game is a disaster, it was made pretty clear when the developers for the Skyrim Together mod said they weren't going to make a multiplayer mod for Starflop because the game is boring. The sad part is like many people already pointed out. Bethesda's future titles will probably be even worse because of this one.

@@solesurvivor111 you don't get what I meant though. Starfield still has quite a big modding scenes which means that there are people who like the game. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people don't like it. No need to spread negativity everywhere.

I think Starfield costs money because there's more to it than just the bugs, but it's pretty on-brand for the Internet to be reductionist about games nowadays.
@concordemakesvideos10706 күн бұрын
Of course there's more to it than its bugs. There's it's crappy design. How it's becoming more normal for the largest game development studios out there to actually sign off on unfinished and unpolished titles to meet quarterly income reports. To satisfy shareholders. To brag to mother companies about how many subscriptions their proprietary network has. Frankly it's vile.
