The disruptor is so fun to use, hopefully they add some functionality for the brig Habs so you can be a bounty hunter. I think the inconsistencies are probably based on the armor the enemies have. Most armors and packs have slightly different EM resistance so it's not super reliable against Stronger enemies

Well, the biggest thing I learned here is that you can charge the novablast disruptor. Are there any other weapons you can charge like this?

I have a breach with One Inch Punch. I changed the magazine mod to slug shots and added a silencer. Super fun for stealth. It one shots everyone and, even better, sounds awesome doing it! Also, aiming seems to make a huge difference as opposed to hip fire..which makes sense, I guess, if it ensures every projectile hits the target. OIP does seem to be one of the best modifying 'perks' for many guns. On a Negotiator with Hornet's Nest mod, it's hilarious..

I use breach like I would use a sniper rifle. It's pretty sweet. Over 210 hours in and have yet to find an advanced breach with unique traits. Did find an extended mag advanced hard target yesterday though.

One Inch Punch with a Coachman and Hornets nest mod does mean a ridiculous amount of explosive pellets reach acting like a Bridger grenade. It's absolute chaos 😂

I have One-Inch Punch on a Va'run particle rifle. It's an absolute monster! I can erase high level enemies on extra hard without any issue at all. It's about 3 times the damage from the normal legendary, and I got a perk to give me 15% extra dmg for aiming. It's insane how much that hits for. Best perk ever!

Hard Target, according to stats I did over 36k in one shot. Unusual for BGS to make weapons do such high numbers, they love them some bullet sponges at BGS.

This was an early game legendary for me during the Ryujin Quest. A blessing for the rest of that questline and great for aggressive aliens when grinding them on high level planets.

One inch punch is not helping you for your mid to long range shots since not all projectiles are hitting the target. One inch punch is for close range(hence the name), it fires more projectiles but in a wide spread. That's why your shots are differing so much and why I do not like one inch punch, unless I'm just running around hip firing stuff up close.

Yeah I kept that Equinox at it's 10, and I actually find it better than the higher damage ones, it's strange to say but multiple hits at 10 are better than one big hit at say 100. One of the story missions cost me 290,000 in credits, the one when the Hunter comes, no spoliers here, even though I only used that EM weapon I still racked up a large bounty.

Such a fun weapon. However, I think it's worth noting that accurate testing can't be done with a NG+ character or one with magazine buffs, unless those are retroactively accounted for (a bit of a faff). VashCowaii has done a great video on damage/resistances and I honestly don't envy anyone doing in-depth Starfield testing

Just saw that video earlier. It single handedly convinced me to rush NG+10 (I’ve played all quest lines and a ton of other stuff with multiple characters so not missing anything) for more challenge. I literally have “deadly difficulty” mod installed so I’ll actually have some challenge.

Yeah I'm tempted by the challenge of NG+10, but I've had such good luck with legendary rolls and I'm mid outpost build. What I'm really hoping for is a survival mode. The mechanics are already in the game , the lack of challenge is the only real downside for me at the moment.

I'd be interested to see what the best possible EM weapon in the game is. I know you can mod some laser and particle beam weapons like the equinox, orion, and novalight and change them to EM but I haven't really experimented. Do you think a good modded legendary would be better than the disruptor? I want to try an EM sniper with the equinox

I'm tried to craft my own advanced shotty with EM but the rate of fire is still too slow. I think One Inch Punch is what I'm looking for... it's too bad there aren't any automatic fire shotguns other than Boom Boom which is explosive so would just kill your target 😂

It does affect the range at which the damage begins to drop off.

@@Samurai-xm2yn The damage value is the total of all of the bullet fragments. If you're far away you're doing less damage than you would have with a weapon that didn't have it.

Happy to see other people found this when I cam across it I was so surprised it is insane to one or 2 shot incapacitate people with no points in the skill tree this is the strongest em weapon in the game and it’s not even close I hated ems before finding this

I would think it would also depend on the opponent's armor as well. If they have 100+ resists and are a high level it might take 2 or 3 hits.

I wish that they would add the ability to give melee weapons modifications. The only melee weapon worth it is the wakazashi and that isn't even that strong. I wish that guns weren't the only viable option to do lots of damage.

Game design in this game is non-existant. If even they hire a middle school graduate with only basic Excel-tabels knowledge they would do so much better. Weapons damage, perks, economy, level progression - all broken!
