I have liked your review most compaired to a couple other tubers, thank you Rand. You're the only one who did side missions, then gave your review. Side missions are all the personality of the game, and winning new loot that your neighbor down the street didnt find, main story quests don't excite me, cause we are all going to play that, even if it's fantastic I didn't discover it. Adventure, discovery, uniqueness to me is what I want.

Rand, I redid this post after I had more time to take in your review points compared to the large number of other reviewers I just read. Your review gave me what I should expect now for gameplay with total clarity with no trolling aspect whatsoever. Regarding exploration, I think people forgot that this was supposed to be fairly realistic. Space is so spread out that there’s no way you could travel to Mars or the Moon in a realistic game. Just my thoughts!

Nice honest review rand. Agree with most of your points. Have to give the game room to open up and some might not be able to wait. I have the game on pc and xbox series x and the game must use direct storage on pc as loading is sometimes instant . This probly would of benefitted from the ps5s ssd. The xbox series x does make up for it with quick resume when jumping back in which is fantastic.

A game of the generation needs to be so incredibly polished and well made that it stands above every other game out there. Starfield doesn’t do that

Rand, i believe the initial feeling of 'is this it' might be universal. I am so far beyond that. Starfield is a game i will play and recommend without hesitation. If Bethesda wouldn’t have intentionally locked the game to 30fps on Xbox Series X and instead actually put forth the effort to optimize for 60fps then Starfield would’ve been a blockbuster game for Xbox but nope that’s not what happened and the 30fps lock in 2023 makes this game a huge let down because it would’ve been superb with a 60fps performance mode…….. The game could still be enjoyable but I’m simply saying it’s never gonna be as good as it could’ve been without a 60fps performance mode on XSX, and those defending 30fps in 2023 on a flagship console are the reason why Bethesda didn’t put forth the effort to give 60fps because people are still defending 30fps in 2023 without outrage and had they’re been a huge backlash when 30fps was announced then Bethesda would’ve put forth the effort to deliver 60fps and the game would’ve been incredible on XSX I don’t wanna hear people blaming the Hardware as I’m sick of people talking crap about the Consoles CPUs because there’s no bottleneck when In the hands of competent devs who actually care which maximize performance……. Starfield looks last gen at best and there’s no CPU bottlenecks in these Consoles as the 30fps intentional lock is a direct result of a lack of optimization as the devs simply didn’t even try to push the Xbox Series X to its maximum potential as this game could easily run 60fps or higher no problems at all if the devs actually cared but nope people defending their lack of ambition and lack of performance mode optimization so they said who cares nobody’s complaining about 30fps because we’re Bethesda so why do the extra work and spend extra time and effort to push the game for a performance mode……… Every 1st party exclusive on PlayStation 5 runs 60fps or 120fps no problems at all and that’s because Sony mandates performance modes on their 1st party exclusives to ensure the quality standard is met and unfortunately Microsoft simply doesn’t give a shit and Horizon Forbidden West is significantly more demanding visually, and it runs an average of around 90fps with the unlocked Vrr mode and it makes Starfield look like a last gen game, and then rift apart runs an average of around 90fps with Vrr unlocked frame rate mode and that’s while using the Vrr Ray Tracing performance mode, and literally looks like a Pixar movie as it’s incredible and it often runs above 100fps while using ray tracing that’s because Sonys 1st party studios push the PS5 to its potential as these Consoles don’t have 30fps bottlenecks when competent devs actually put forth the time and effort to maximize performance as it’s that simple and Bethesda is lazy and doesn’t give a shit about Xbox Series X gamers which is Why PS5 is the dominant platform……….
