The lighting and sound design add SO MUCH to this game. Phenomenal immersion and lore building! One thing I am wondering though, is if the correct constellations are visible from Earth at night.

YAY! Very excited for this one Roxy. My only problem is when I get access in a few days I need to hurry up and get far past where your playthrough is so I don't see any spoilers etc. I am cheating a wee bit on this video as I know this is the early game intro stuff and I already know about the how it starts off. London, this is such a beautiful sight to see of it. On that note, extremely jealous of you right now with this game... I had to choose betweeen BG3 or Starfield (have a house to pay off... so... yeah, very little discretionary spending money), and while I am extremely happy with BG3 - the writing in this game is just, I think it might actually be better than BG2 and NVN, the character dynamics definitely is - I desperately want this game, as long as I can fly the ship in first-person then it will scratch that other itch I've been missing... btw, any comparison with no mans sky is stupid... it's more in common with freelancer 2 or tachyon: the fringe.

The one issue I've seen brought up with this game though is the amount of loading screens and the map (when out of the ship/in city), and the amount of loading screens... but otherwise apparently this is the most bug-free game bethesda has released in quite some time (at least nothing game-breaking). While I prefer more sci-fi (alien races, etc...) in my sci-fi games, this looks to bring back the original nostelga of Elite (1984)/Elite 2 and what Elite 3 (close encounters) was supposed to be. Yes, that's it... that's the comparison for this game, Elite 3: Close Encounters.

@@Caderynwolf Yeah, I get you; this one feels more grounded (though obviously still fairly fantastical.) Freelancer is such an underrated gem. I reinstalled it a few months ago and I haven't played it yet... You've inspired me to go and do just that.

@@AndrewD8Red Just bare in mind you've got those nostalgic rose-tinted glasses on, so remember what year it came out in and the limitations of the time. I did the same thing with iWar (independence war) because that was a groundbreaking scifi game when it came out, but it didn't age as well as I'd have hoped... same with silent scope ("realistic" WWII submarine game). Even Elite (1984) I remembered the playing screen being a lot bigger than it was not that the UI hud took up 2/3rds of the screen XD

@@Caderynwolf That is very wise counsel, friend. ... Although, I installed I-War 2 a few months earlier, and I've been really enjoying that... probably more than I did at the time. So fingers crossed for Freelancer! (Neat to hear Doug Cockle pre-Geralt in Edge Of Chaos, too.) Haven't replayed the first I-War... maybe I should be cautious about that one. AND I tried the 2.0 build of Battlecruiser 3000AD again and that one is... a bit of a struggle to get as invested in now.
