Howdy ya'll, This is one of my all time most Favorite Arcade games, I've been looking for this game for quite some time now, not an easy game to find up here in Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 I played this when it debuted back in 1981, I dropped a lot quarters in this game, just to hear it laugh and taunt me, over and over again 😂 ya, this a very Cool game indeed 👍 Great video ya'll, Thank you for sharing your research and footage, of GORF, Stay safe, God Bless and game on my Friends 🕹

One of the best things about GORF is the attract mode. When you move the Joystick the machine will respond and taunt you, classic!

I played Gorf a lot back in the 80s in the arcade and also on the Commodore 64 which had a solid port. I didn't know about the acronym either so that is cool. still one of my favorites to play on MAME as well, and I've always thought it was a really cool looking cabinet too. I saw one for free out on the street a few years back so I hope someone saved it and is playing it right now.

I LOVED and still love Gorf. In the arcade I've sadly never yet made Space Avenger, though I did make Space Admiral on 7 lives. Once. ;-) My favourite port is actually the Atari 2600 version, it's fast, clean gfx, good sfx, challenging, and satisfying when you take out the flagship. Great game to highlight.

I didnt know the name of gorf is abbreviated till now as Galactic Oribiting Robot Force, thats cool, ive seen a few people back in the days beat this game leveled up from space general to space avenger because they had some sort of pattern to beat it but at the same time the game got harder and much faster.

I encountered this game first in the game room of a golf course and the voice kid of scared me/intimidated me.

Being French-Canadian, I can confirm that gorf is a frequent re-slanging of 'frog' for someone of French descent. Why it needed another slur I don't know, but there we are.
