@@TheDisplacerBeast I do. In my opinion it doesn't kill the Force. They are connected to the Force, not the source of it. The old expanded universe even said that having a high or low amount is guarantee a powerful force user. And its scfi, I don't mind the magic having a "science" connection.

It may seem strange, but my mystic (mindbreaker) has the ace pilot theme. I built the PC for piloting and ranged combat. My first level feats were Skill Synergy (piloting/perception) and long arm proficiency.

18:53 - You would not want to hold your breath in a vacuum, as your lungs will rupture. If you exhale quickly enough, your lungs may not pop, but you'll still suffer a severe case of 'the bends'. Because Starfinder is fantasy, we should assume that Star Shamans have the necessary knowledge and protection to use the ability, but that also means holding one's breath is pointless.

Just to make sure I've been reading the book right - are both the Mystic and Technomancer (to use a Pathfinder term) spontaneous casters, like Pathfinder's Sorcerers?

I believe you are correct. No need to prepare specific spells beforehand. You choose a spell at the moment of casting, which in turn uses up one of your spells per day for that level of spell.

Seems like there are no spell failure as well and no Somatic, Vocal or Material components needed at alll when spell casting! :D

Dont think that telephatic bond will provide that BIG of a boost! Considering that it probably will be quite easy at that lvl to get some sort of device that can do long distance wireless comunications? ( aka sci-phones) might not be in the game now, but I can see that you set up a cominication server using your ship and just get earplugs for the team

That's true, but those are 1) expensive, 2) possible to hack or destroy, and 3) can have interference from the environment. So it's advantage is relative to your wealth, galactic position, and whether or not your enemies can hack stuff to overhear you.

Totally agree, which means its an ability that can go from not being needed to being really useful, and that makes it a good ability which makes the class useful but not necessary in case no one plays it in the group?!

I know this was a while ago. It is pretty damn awesome with how they've set up the world. Because it is instant anywhere on the same plane it is silly good. In SF information can't travel any faster than drift travel, which means messages outside of a system are going to have massive delays. With telepathic bond you could cut this out entirely.

So I'm a bit confused, haven't played any table top game in 10 years.. you mention mindbender gets feeble mind and mind thrust, so do the other versions of mystic not get these even though they are listed on the spell list?

SkanMLL mindbreakers get those as bonus spells, but other classes have to use up a spell known to get them

Ok stupid question. I downloaded the pdf for the character sheet and core rulebook but I cant fill it out thru my pdf reader like the d&d character sheets

If you go onto Paizo's forum for Starfinder, there's a discussion on there that has a bunch of fillable character sheets and ship sheets that people have made. They aren't official character sheets, but they're about as close as you can get at the moment.

I'm only disappointed that the xenodruid can't shapeshift into other creatures.

they can though. once a day you can just decide "Well, guess I'll die" and cacoon yourself up for eight hours or so and come back as any creature roughly the same size and type. and if i remember you can like shift small bits of yourself but its been a bit.

Supernatural Ability. As opposed to (Sp) Spell like ability or (Ex) Extraordinary ability

oh. god. spellcasting in starfinder. you would think there would be a pathfinder or dnd facsimile for the spellcasters here, just for explanation purposes, but there really isnt. the starfinder spellcasters are pretty much their own thing. for better or worse.
