Really enjoyed watching this series again - having watched it the first time as a young boy in the early 80s (UK). 40-something years later, I am just amazed by how Japanese it is! With so many anime-like aspects, from John-Lee's nose-bubble whilst he was sleeping, and the character designs, especially Makara and Orion, to the Power Rangers-like monsters and robots. Another thing which struck me through the series is the Japanese code of honour, which means that some characters MUST die, while other must for-fill their destiny, even at the cost of their own feelings and wants. I can't remember seeing this final episode. TV, as it was back in the day, if you missed an episode, you missed it for good! So it is especially great to finally watch the whole story. Thank you for posting, it's been very much appreciated!

Spent a worthwhile 7 hours watching through this at 2x speed as I never got to see every episode as a kid. It's amazing how similar X-Bomber looked to the Battlehawk of Terrahawks. No doubts Terrahawks had the better puppetry - Star Fleet's is a joke in comparison. However, Star Fleet's storyline is grim, gritty and quite surprising in parts.
@AlexDraco Жыл бұрын
While Terrahawks is a great series, I myself still believe Star Fleet to be superior to it, in terms of puppetry and aesthetics... The bad guys in particular are pretty scary and considerably more threatening than Zelda and her funny, yet ultimately quite inept crew of androids.

Thanks for the uploads. I made it to the end, A mate used to say he loved this as a kid, whereas I preferred terrahawks. Never saw SF. I had no idea it was a story. Enjoyable to watch. Terrahawks was a far more professional production though - better dialogue, voice acting, characters, humour, models, design, even soundtrack etc. but story always wins over the episodic format, even if terrahawks was more progressive episodic than the wooden star trek shite. Btw the voice actor for makara also played Zelda. I couldn't get past seeing Zelda in every scene lol

Kerrara pointlessly dying on the top deck was brutal, without a Eulogy very upsetting. 😡 But wait you think the English version was brutal, The fluffy white alien "MonMons" genocide was on another level outside the English version, they spend lots of time (montage) showing Shiro shooting the F out of most of them, holes and all, they then show us piles of MonMon corpses. Very few run away contrary to what is depicted in this english version, they skipped it all. Watched the French version Bomber-X vs the English Starfleet and it's tame in comparison, they don't even imply that Mon Mons could be dangerous in french and then they just devastate them, poor remaining things have a radioactive volcano to deal with too. They never should of landed there. 😢 I bet the Japanese version is even more brutal, that's what makes these shows age well for us now as adults, like Captain Harlock, the Japanese back then didn't shy away from the consequences of war and we westerner kids had to deal with it, no Hollywood happy endings. 👏
