Starfleet Flashback bundle First Impressions | Star Trek Online

Just wanted to let you guys know; I said at the end of this video that I'm going to buy this bundle, but after thinking more on it (had a lot of time for that during the blackout lol), I have decided not to buy the Starfleet Flashback bundle at this time. Part of this decision is due to the serious bug that came with the Cyclone Patrol Escort, which essentially breaks your characters' ability to pick up its trait as well as any additional traits (and may also break your ability to even slot traits all together). But even if that weren't an issue, there just isn't enough in this bundle to make me want to spend $100 on it. I don't even want to pick up one of the ships individually. They're decent ships, but they're not that great when you compare them to ships from the recent anniversary bundles, which can also be purchased individually. Cyclone is good (assuming they fix that bug with unlocking its starship trait), but I'd say Adamant and Eagle are quite a bit better, stats-wise. Cyclone's console shows some promise, but I'm not totally sold on it yet. Justiciar is just another 4/4 Command cruiser, there's literally nothing special about it. I think it's pretty, but not as pretty as the Odyssey so why should I bother when I'll play with Justiciar for like two days before going back to my Lexington? And I already went over the issues with the Augur in the video, that being that it's virtually the same ship as the Nautilus. Augur's console has been tested by others and apparently it isn't nearly as good as I had hoped. And frankly, I don't like the look of the Augur (or any of the Deep Space Science Vessels), the Nautilus can at least use the Daedalus costume and I'll take TOS space barbie over whatever the old DSSV was trying to be. I might pick it up at a future date when I have more cash to spare and preferably during a 35% off sale, but for now, I'm going to pass on it and wait to see what else is coming.

I'm glad that these ships are getting updated but the phasers and uniforms being locked behind the bundle kind of ruins the whole thing for me. People have been asking for better looking/screen accurate phasers for pretty much as long as I've been playing and instead updating the old ones or having them as a mission reward (or hell putting them in the store for 1k zen or something) they lock them behind a ridiculously expensive bundle? So tired of this practice

With the store ships, upgrades are somewhat decent to put on a few of them when setting up a new character because it's a T6 for while you level until you can finish your reputations.

Regarding the Tempest Tail gun...I loved it simply because my play style would constantly have me overfly my targets and I would end up showing the target my backside anyway. It was nice having a Dual Cannon that was able to deal out higher damage than turrets in the back whenever my fly-bys went too far. It made the Tempest my GO-TO T5 ship for the longest time.

Yeah.... tell me about it!! I'm a Hit and run type or OVER shooter. Love me a 5/3 with two Turrets and a big FAT Maelstrom Torp to slap them right in the face as I blow by and flip a bit** to get my nose back on them....if they survive that pass. Cruisers and lower don't survive so it's usually only the big boys that I have to get fancy with. I do eat my fair share of Core breaches but it's the price for my play style. If I have pilot maneuvers on the ship I can roll or boost by and not take the hit. I actually fly pilot ships because I can double tap back and not over fly them most of the time. You Might want to get that a try my fellow over shooter. I really wish there was a Digitizer turret just to give at little tap tap tap to stop the explosions to my face 😆

The Tempest Tail Gun you could rework to function like the Maelstrom torpedoes. Let it build charges and do a ton of damage every now and then. Idea being to encourage the boom and zoom style of flying in some way. Yes, not meta, but I think this game could use some fun new ideas to mix up casual builds.

I really hope the actual Picard S3 uniforms aren't bundle locked, and the same for the SNW uniforms. Just put them in the normal uniform tab of the store and people would be a lot happier

Unfortunately I think the best one can hope for in the current state of the game would be Lobi store for SNW and Pic S3 uniforms. The Uniform tab in the C-Store hasn't been updated since 2016 if I recall correctly. It's dead and gone at this point and very doubtful they'll release any new show uniforms for 550 zen when people have shown for almost a decade they'll spend more.

It's a mixed back because if they costumes aren't in a bundle like this they'll end up in the Lobi store, where they'll be expensive AND single character unlocks. At least in a bundle like this the costume will be an account unlock. Cryptic just doesn't do the 550 zen costume packs like they used to any more.

If you own it you can use the Mirror Star Cruiser skin on it too. I prefer it to the Star Cruiser's normal skin (I love round saucers).

Short answer no. Long answer is the ships all have existing store counterparts that are way better. The devs went out of their way to make these ships as generic as possible. They definitely all feel like ships designed in 2017. No dual specializations hurt them a lot. The Sci ship is just a Nautilus. The Justiciar is a generic cruiser eclipsed by something like the Styx. And the Cyclone is just a Hydra but worse in every way besides having a useless battle cloak instead of a useless cloak. The Cyclone trait and Auger console may be fine, but unless you just really were waiting on a T6 of one of these ships, there's nothing in the pack worth having besides the uniform or ground stuff, which has no business being bundled in there. A pretty bad pack, especially for the good faith players put into waiting for a decade for these ships.

I'm glade they made t6 ships of the oldies but tbh they should update the designs of the og variants of the trident and emissary, now I think about it too they should make a t6 variant of the Excalibur class (constitution class 2409 variant) for the zen store

I just bought the bundle. The Starship Slots were directly applied to the character I was on at the times. The uniform was automatically added to my options. The weapons are reclaimable, but they hide in the "ITEMS" Section of the Z-Store. There they can be found under the "All" or "Promotion Unlock Items" tabs. The T6 Ship Coupon is fully tradable, not bound. The Fleet Ship Modules are fully tradable, not bound.

@Stu1701 You said it's ridicilous to upgrade the base version of the T6 ships over the T6 Fleet version but if a player make a new character and those already T6-X then they start with an extra stuffs in they character. Cuz let's face it not everyone is can be in fleets. I definitely not in any fleet myself so upgrading the C-Store ships to T6-X is worth it.

Though the DSSV was my old "main" back in the launch era, I think I'll definitely be present for the Patrol Escort. I remember back when it was called the blockade runner escort, and the "Maelstrom" skin was the first cosmetic skin I ever bought for a ship. Folks have been waiting for a T6 version ever since the old Tempest days, too.

What I don't like about the Augur's trait is: "has a chance to trigger,". I really like the Justicar's design. I like the Cyclone's console & trait & wonder how much better they'd be paired with an Improved Raider Flanking ship.

The beauty with the console and trait is once you level the ship and unlock them, you can use them elsewhere. And use something else here.

Quick question, you mentioned the fleet ships, I've been playing a while but never bothered with the fleet ships as they seem harder to get, there is a bunch of marks and other resources to grind to get them - do you have a video about fleet ships?

The 2387 uniforms should have been in the promotions tab like the first Picard uniforms, including it with the 'bundle' doesn't seem right or even fair. The justicar and the escort look ok. The science ship I could care less for. I'll give the bundle a try, but it's my last bundle. Going to create a vulcan engineer so the Justicar gets usage.

Excited about the escort, though with its console I would of liked it better as a raider. That said can also stick the console on the Adamant assuming it can be used on other ships. But the ship as a whole seems really really solid.

I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't care that the ship has very similar layout to another. I mean... okay say you like that setup, but you don't like the model currently available that has that setup? This is an option for that. There's also just a hard limit on combos of boff seating available - as you said the game's been around a long time and unless they add more specs there's just only so many combinations of 4-5 seats you can do. I'm not saying your 'wrong' to be clear, it's a valid opinion, I just figured I'd put up my own which differs pretty significantly. I also feel like noting: Even if it were different, it wouldn't matter, C-Store ships are always inferior to Lockbox and Promo ships (which I think is awful, but this game has been a money vampire from the instant it went F2P so I've given up beating that drum too hard); so people who only care about numbers wont' care, and people who are just looking for a nice looking ship will take it and make it work with what it has regardless of anything else. It just... doesn't seem like a big deal to me. YMMV of course.

Sadly little I can use in my science and more Science! build in my Eternal Temporal Multi-Mission Science Vessel. It really has been the best investment for me. The Uniforms and phasers need to be in the equivalent to the DS9 bundle. If they used that format (not diving up the price) they could sell lots of copies of this. Effectively making more money by not adding in ships.

I would've picked up this bundle just for the uniform, but that was back in the day. But I believe this bundle is way overpriced. Also they don't give a crap about uniforms anymore. For a few years now I've been begging them to fix the clipping issues for the female feminine stances missing limbs on a few. The only time they fixed a uniform issue was when the Kelvin sleeveless uniforms started to have clipping issues around the nipples. They fixed that rather fast, but left the collarbone clipping issue in tact.

I really wish they would put the values for the consoles with the description and more information on the space traits. I will not purchase this bundle if I don't know if any of that stuff is actually worth my time. Ships are OK but since I have so many ships maybe the escort would be worth testing out but the other two ships are simple a no. So why buy the bundle? Well traits and consoles + extras like the uniforms ect... But at this time I have to wait until I actually see some more information on the stuff. I'm not sure what Ka'el is doing work wise for Cryptic because well his blogs are always lacking however why can't they have a stream on Tuesday and one on Wednesday for Neverwinter and STO? They want to sell you a product but the information about the product is lacking a lot, not sure who in charge there but boy if I want to sell something I do some serious advertising not a half ass block with half ass information about the product.

No, the newer Inquiry model is no on PC. There's been no talk about it from any of the devs and very little from the player base, too. I doubt they'll ever do it unless they have an excuse to release another version of the Inquiry, and with Picard being over, I doubt that'll happen any time soon.

My burning question about the new pack is...are the ground weapons polluted by stupid holographic rubbish and the right size. All the default weapons come with silly holographics or spikes as the mark increases. The less said about the size and looks of default Plasma weaponry.

I genuinely wish that it was the Picard season 3 uniform. These season 1 uniforms from The flashback scenes are absolutely ugly in my opinion. What a horrible way to follow up the uniforms from first contact in the Trek timeline for Starfleet uniforms. I really love the phasers though. That star cruiser does look sexy as well. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a Nemesis bundle or something. You know, the sleek & smaller dolphin shape phaser + phaser rifle, and a revamped/updated version of the first contact uniforms so that they look better?
