I mean, the republic during the final year of the clone war was an empire in all things but name. Is fighting to the last man a good idea ? Most beings tend to favor survival over heroism, despite them having great dream of heroism. That's human. Although, there are examples of last stands that have managed to survived because they fought to the last man and kill so many enemies that they managed to survive. @@StarForceOne is that a thing in Star Wars tho?
@guimot01233 жыл бұрын
@@flyer3154 Well, there is no "Geneva Convention" in Star Wars, but there was a comic that mention something closer to that during the Clone Wars. But there is a reason why we consider perfidy (fake surrender) as a war crime. It is because this can backfire drastically to the one who commited it. Taking for example the countless times that the Republic and the Jedi commited a perfidy in The Clone Wars. That will serve as a justification for the Seppies to also commited other war crimes like the execution of POW's, civilians and etc. They could justify that by saying: "The Republic scum is known to fake surrender so they can strike while we last expect. So we will start to execute all republic prisoners we have to prevent that". This is why we consider "perfidy" as a war crime. It's kinda of a logical reason rather than a simple way to make "war fair". So probably there is also something similar in the Star Wars universe.

Yes he did some things in clone wars that can be considered as crime or trick(depending on your sight) but I always remembered Kenobi trying to choose the right and honorable way but in this case he is very much ok with Cody shooting the Sepratist. Thing is Dooku wasn’t a bad person, and Greivous only commuted war crimes on Sidouses orders. Dooku actually cared for the outer rim and left the Jedi because he thought they were too restricting and were losing connection with the force. Most of the Trade Federation were just greedy, but Sidious was the major driving force behind the CIS commuting war crimes and most evil that Dooku and Greivous did were because of Sodious, without out Palpatine the CIS leaders would be much better beings and the CIS would have been a force for good.
