Starfrost Atlantean - Deck Profile Post LEDE

Here with my updated list for my passion project. I will eventually get some matches here to show case how this deck really preforms. Try to sway the nay sayers. Let me know your thoughts and hoped you enjoyed the video!

End board is so much weaker without toad, but goes second much better. Still, very cool concept!

When I actually played the deck, my end boards through a hand trap were apollo, Hope, and pater. Sometimes sticking a gymir/ chengying. But more importantly and harder to see the impact, I would hand loop for 4 after getting hand trapped leaving them on zero cards. Hopfully I can get some successful matches and show how this deck plays out. I'm not denying this deck probbs sucks lol 🤣 it's a dream

@@deepseaygo250 Totally understandable, what a deck does in testing and at the table are two different things but based on the banlist, its so much harder to put up omninegates now I feel toad turbo is important as well as minstrel becoming so much better

@@cameraman1234567890Oh yeah, minstrel became huge do to loss of baronne and I do think having toad as omni negate is in important. As I play with the mermail cards, I am focusing more so on the toad as thanks to harpooner, abyss keeper, and tremora, u can pretty consistently set up toad before ever normal summoning

@@deepseaygo250 That’s sweet. This deck is highly resistant to board breakers if mizuchi is played as well as numen, but on their own, those cards are bricks. I honestly was almost hoping for little knight to get banned this format because then numen becomes full mandatory

@cameraman1234567890 yeah u can deal with board breakers with reframing so there still answers in the deck acounted for but a solid Bait into a dark ruler no more assuming I didn't hand rip would be rough. Thts alot of variables though so not sure. Deck needs more to to refine for sure

great profile man ! I think tearlaments reinoheart and scherein are good cards to add in. It is a great extender if you open tremora or aegirine, it is searchable with the field spell, and also you can mill it by the effect of minstrel triggering himself in the gy to special summon it; then if you have tremora or aegirine in hand, field or gy you mill scherein from deck , then scherein effect to special summon kaleido heart and shuffle back your extenders for follow-up. Moreover, after summoning kaleido, reinoheart wil be banished so that when you send prima donna to gy you can shuffle reino-heart back in the deck without shiffling an opponents card back. the down-side is that you should reconsider how you play moulinglacia in the deck. p.s. sherein is also a good extender that you can special summon discarding a card from hand and sending top 3 cards to gy, but you should pay attention to the amount of water monsters in gy

@@deepseaygo250 made a little mistake, I thought minstrel could trigger reinoheart but actually doesn't cause it sends for cost. Btw if you have fishborg + reino in hand it should work

Very much so! It doesn't need to. Wht it does do is allow a deck full of normal summons to play through more then 1 interaction and triggers deepsea cards while also offering utility in It being a lvl4 tuner. Most importantly haprooner allows water to play before or after ur normal summon

@elijahtorres9699 harpooner doesn't trigger atlantean cards like dragoons cus it doesn't send it to gy as cost. This has been the general opinion on haprooner since announcement, tht it doesnt send for cost so bad, but I found this to be alittle short sighted as harpooner offers water the ability to actually play through hand traps and can potentially completely change how water r built in tht the water lock variants have potential to be best version

Thats totally fair, there is potential for clunky hands when blending engines like this. I think my issue with goyos have only been its a one trick combo tht u can play into a board with going second and requires alot of extra deck space with little flexibility, as well as its a normal diva combo which r typically the most fragile combos. With this version, I hvae noticed I can play through a negated diva and go full combo more then not, or at least through 1 hand trap

Cooking up personal deck brews like this is my favorite part of this game. Happy to see you've found a deck you enjoy working on and tinkering with. Enemy Controller is still one of my favorite tech cards, because using it at the right time to dodge a negation or avoid some other interaction can still be really powerful even against today's power creep, and timing it just right looks sick as hell. I'm excited to see where you decide to go with this deck going forward!

This is a good question! Starfrost and the field spells to search him is great to hvae in ur opening cus it makes ur water cards more of bait. As for the scareclaw cards though, its kinda like an "it depends on the hand" scenario. Reicheart can be a brick if u cant get to starfrost or need ur normal but if u open ur water extenders tht let u special from hand, then hes fine as ur normal cus he still gets u to starfrost thought the field spell. Arrival can be the worst to open cus u need to have already started playing but, I have added tidal in the deck so tidal helps make arrival live as well as u can mill ur scareclaw or starfrost off ur waters and make arrival live tht way. Lastly, the scareclaw field spell can feel like a brick cus u really just wanna search it and if u dont open starfrost or reicheart or water combo then ur limited to only having starfrost or scareclaw monster and tht can feel bad. if u open other pieces then it jsut acts as a Starter/ extender so like i said the scareclaw cards r like an "it depends"

It sounds like the scareclaw field spell is as bricky as it is in mannadium, but knowing that you can still commit to the scareclaw normal if you have water extenders makes me less hesitant to try this deck. Tidal makes sense as a way to dump missing pieces too

@3P1CN1C0 yeah tidal is cool plus u play stream at one to add to hand off of Donna to search it. Summoning minstrel off cross sheep can be synchroed with tidal for pater plus if u can search or open it, u can potentially mill off ur waters
