This Daniel is much better at explaining things than the one in the show :D And also at actually speaking the languages. The Daniel in the show always only spoke a few words of each language AND when he tried to explain something, he always chose the most complicated way to say, making everyone around him to stop listening.

He could totally make it work without the 7th symbol. It's a 1 in 39 chance, just try it 39 times with a different 7th symbol and one will eventually work.

But the only way to test it is by sending someone through. Who know where they'd end up? How much time that would take? How much power that would take?

@@AutoRevLife No not in the way it was shown. Had it been any of the six symbols that shows the actual location, yes then you could end up being sent to a Random location. HOWEVER, as we where shown in the beginning, the seventh symbol is the point of origin that you need to travel from. Without the 7th symbol the gate won´t connect and it won´t form the wormhold. You could basically put it like this the first six symbols is the you telling the gate where you want to go. But without the 7th symbol you can´t say from where. It would be like you saying how much will it cost me to fly to New York? Well unless we know where you live, we won´t be able to calculate the cost or direct you to the nearest airport. So again Jackson could just dial in the 6 symbol and then chose randomly from the other symbols. Knowing full well the gate wouldn´t connect unless he got the 7th symbol, since one stargate can´t be used to connect two others.

That whole point of origin makes little sense before the show introduced the DHD (the control console) the show didn't have. Because why would you need to input the origin? You're AT the origin. It should be automatic. But without the DHD, you have to come up with a way to program it manually every step. I find it funny that they could figure out how to program the stargate easier than look at symbols and figure out what they mean.
