Us Stragate fans don't want the bullshit modern scifi 8 episode each one is a blockbuster film budget mess. We want 22 modest budget eps a season using practical sets and effects with B-list actors that don't take themselves or the series too seriously. We want some standalone fun to talk about at work the next week. Bring back the 80s/90s campy scifi style that DEFINED A FREAKING GENRE. There's a reason shows like Stargate and X-Files lasted 10 seasons (hint: it wasn't the special effects or extra long episodes with blood and gore and tits). Jeeze. Hollywood is full of dumbasses. If Amazon wants to make something like The Expanse or Rings of Power and slap the Stargate franchise logo on it, they can keep it. If they want to make a character-driven, monster of the week, well-designed plot arcs, alternating fun and serious, practical set design, intelligently used special effects show for all ages to enjoy, then me and the rest of the fanbase will be here ready to cheer them on.

I've started re-watching SG1 from the beginning with my 10 year old son... he thinks it's the best thing he's ever seen! he asked whether there would be any new series made.. i then had a long talk with him about how TV now isn't the same as it used to be (i should have looked at your comment first, that first paragraph covers it!)

To be honest, I want my memory erased so I can rewatch ALL of Stargate, it is by far the best show I've ever seen, from the movie Stargate 1994, to the Stargate Universe. I think I started somewhere in November 2021, and finished the series in March or April 2022, those days were by far one of the best.

Reliable sources have already stated this is not going to be a reboot. For my reliable sources the working title that i've heard is SG1. The creative team that is almost certainly going to be doing. This has even talked about what they would do to save the destiny. This is going to be a sequel not even a soft reboot but a straight sequel

Hear me out, they could either recast them..with younger people (as a flashback storylines to explain the important events after the death of Asgards and wraith/ori battles) like progressions of Homeworld Security. May be they even formed a federation like organisation with the magnitude of power and tech they hold. This is 1 storyline. Flash forward you have the OG cast members doing their designated roles adjusted to the real world passage of the time. 2024 or 2025 perhaps. Remember how arrow did it for the first few seasons? Just like that. This will solve the actors aging problem. Or with enough budget they could use de aging...but i dont think they will spend that much, so a soft- recast for a separate story line is a good way to go!

I suggested a soft- recast since RDA, Amanda Tapping and Shanks are really old at this point. Even Joe Flannigan a bit old now. Thats why. These are the real world challenges man. And then, they have to solve scientific plot holes. Now they have intergalactic hyperdrives which ruins the concept of travelling galaxies. Atlantis wormhole drives etc... somehow they have to retcon that and make intergalactic travel only through Stargate and not ships. I mean ships are still good, but it should take super hard efforts to travel between the galaxies. And then there is this passionate story line of SGU, their S2 Mission was very profound. I dont want them to come home.

Someone needs to do an analysis for what made SG series good. For me it was the characters, the adventures to new worlds, the looming threat of an acient alien empire, the cool set designs, the aliens (always kinda wished for more of a star wars alien and tech universe or a Starship Andromida, then again maybe thats cuz i remember them being really good), the star trek inspired wrapups at the end of episodes, and stuff I can't even remember its been so long.

Stargate was one of the best feelgood-sci-fi shows ever made. The thing I miss the most in sci-fi these days is that feeling that the cast actually loved being together.. Warehouse 13, Eureka, Stargate.. Every weekend I was just amped to see what the crew was up to. After all those shows got cancelled and the sci-fi landscape took a turn towards dystopian melancholy(even Stargate itself moving towards that type of show with Universe), I kinda lost interest in sci-fi for a good long while. tbh I never really cared about sci-fi shows after that. I've seen nothing in sci-fi in the past 10 years that made me want to watch more than an episode or two. It's all dark and depressing. If they're gonna go dark with Stargate remake, I'm probably just skipping it, because that's definitely a complete misunderstanding of what makes Stargate awesome. Even in the much darker Atlantis universe, the team was such a bright spot. I miss stargate so much..

The Stargate series needs an upgrades that a large amounts of money can provide. A new form of transportation across the entire universe that the ancients left hidden that you use in tandem with the Stargate would be cool. My real interest would be seeing a reworked Stargate with amazing shots from above. The way space looks should be up to date with the current cgi capabilities. I’m thinking about how colorful and realistic looking space like James Gunn’s Guardian of the Galaxies. Beautiful space. Black Holes that are realistic. The time dilation devices are cool. Bring all the older actors back for consultation for SG1. We love them too. Bring Stargate Back!! Spend that money, the show has earned it. I’m talking to AMAZON about these request. Put Glassner and Wright together it’ll be just right! Oh yeah, Amazon shouldn’t skimp on the budget either. Please and Thank you. Low Ratings did NOT kill SGU, MGM going bankrupt did. Why does just about everyone get this wrong? Season 2 of SGU was making a solid comeback for the series. It's main struggle being the transition from TV to Digital/Streaming.

I'd rather Stargate not coming back if it is gonna be some stupid modern "remake" or "fresh take" etc I want sequel with as many original writers and producers etc as possible or nothing. Amanda Tapping for example does producing and directing as well, so she wouldnt have to star in the series but I would feel much better if she was at least involved in the production process for example. It doesnt have to be carbon copy with the exact same cast, writers, directors etc, just as many people who have passion and vision for the project and ties to the original series in whatever roles they choose this time. And a bonus a direct sequel would be perfect, but a reasonable spin off would be fine too, just no remakes please for the love of god!

There is no way that I would want ANY of those creative companies linked to a Stargate revival (or reboot) JJ Abraham pretty much totaled both Startrek and Starwars, there is no way I want him on Gate ether, that would be all of my favorite scifi shows totalled by him. Nor would I want the people from the Expanse of The Boys on this show. Amazon needs to take a look at why SG1 and SGA ran for over 15 years. It was a bit on the quarky side, a bit serious but not so much so that it couldn't have fun every so often and have it feel out of place. Sure this was a military outfit, but these were the sort of Marines which you would see the Battlestar Galactica reboot. There were repurpose soap opera characters like on that show. They were real people with real issues that handled them both as professionals and people. They were still US Airforce officers which still being human at the end of the day. If they redo this show (which they should just restart it, it wouldn't be that hard to do so but find a way to do it while bringing in a new audience) they should keep the performances of Richard D. Anderson in mind along with the other stars. When SGA went the BSG reboot way, it lost half its viewers and SGU couldn't hold an audience ether. Besides there are too many of those morbid shows on TV today. Let's have a show which actually works, that is fun, but can be series, but also knows when to laugh at itself (the time loop episode anyone?).

I'm afraid if they make a new SG, it will fail due to the pushing of the current narratives. Studios spend more to pushing their agenda, than creating a good story or choosing the right actors. These are not the best times to create something good, at least this is what I'm afraid of. I don't want SG to be put away because nobody likes it, while the truth would be nobody likes the 'woke one'.

Honestly they should start with movie with ancient humans making the gates or show the original villains from og when earth got rid of the gates and jump to modern day after the program was closed and the possibility with cgi and green screens and make up and guest appearances will be amazing

I'm not interested. Without the Characters: Sam, Jack, Daniel, Teal'c and Hammond, it will lack any consistency. I wasn't much of a fan of such space series like Star Track, etc. What drew me to such sci-fi scenario as SG-1 were the characters, the Jack/Sam relationship and the P-90 automatic weapons and the firefights they encountered in their off-world escapades. I'm former military from the Vietnam era. We could have used those P-90s in Vietnam.

Like the dozen comments I've read, I too DON'T want a "Reboot". I want all 3 series to continue, either where it left off, which would require most of the original cast, or continue some years later, with mostly or all new cast, with some of the original cast returning as "guest" for cameo roles, as they are older with some deceased, may have other commitments or be ill, etc. I hate "remakes"! I actually HATE THE REMAKE OF BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, but DO LIKE the 80s "SCOUTS" episodes, which so many apparently hate. I also don't like the remake of LOST IN SPACE.

Well, actually, its no secret that SGA ended early because of the start of SGU since MGM couldnt afford to run two Stargate series at the same time. In my opinion, it would have been WAY better, to invest the money from the three SGU seasons in three more SGA seasons and bring SGA to a REAL end and not that open-endet "What? That's it?" ending they had. And to be honest, SG1 could use another season as well to finally show how it continued. Plus that SG1 and SGA where MUCH closer connected together than they where with SGU. I mean, okay, SGA started as a "Lost Expedition with no chance to return" as well, but that changed during the series on multiple ways, from the Daedalus traveling between Earth and Atlantis, to Atlantis finding a ZPM for a direct connection to Earth, till that Gate-Bridge that Carter and McKay developed. In SGU it simply stayed a Lost Expedition since they were on a moving ship that's basicly "stuck" on Autopilot for an eternity and cant get stopped or reprogrammed what means, once they lost contact to earth, there is NO way to regain it. But hey, if the remake is actually something good, i will surely not complain. For now i'm simply hyped what they have in store for us.

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis are simply great television. I tolerated Stargate Universe but it was not good. Stargate didn't get canceled over ratings but was canceled because of MGM bankruptcy. If MGM had kept Stargate Atlantis going with SG Universe then Atlantis could have gone on for 5-plus years just like SG-1. I have the DVDs for all of them and I rewatch 2 or 3 times per year while I run on my treadmill. Great series. If you make a good series, I will watch but I want more than 6 crappy episodes a season.

I agree I couldn't even watch the second season of Universe but SG-1 and Atlantis I watched over and over again both series was great. I would like to see in a new series more about the Ancients and a story line following them.

atlantis was formulaic and painfully predicable after season 3, same thing with sg1 after season 8. SGU was actually interesting for the first time in years and fans shunned it because of a lesbian character lol, this trash community deserved it

@@planetzerozero3613 I could not push myself to endure it passed episode 6. Good lord did that show suck. Why did they not let them crash into that star and be done with it. Or better yet, end everyone when they stepped through the gate because there was an active shield on the other side. The saved money could be used to give Atlantis a proper ending. I genuinely cannot find anything likable about it beside the premise. There is just nothing there. The characters sucked. The camera work sucked. The communication stones were ridiculous. The songs (god i hate songs in tv shows) sucked. I went in with low expectations but even that bar was too high. The camera work which they tried to copy from BSG was exactly why i could not get passed the first episode of BSG. I heard that this style of camera usage was being used throughout the entire series so i just turned it off and threw it away. I cannot understand how people can watch that kind of camera work. Too bad though. I though BSG would be a good show and it probably is but i cant watch it. I love SG-1 and SG-A and i rewatch it every few years. SGU on the other hand. That sucked.

I miss Stargate, but I don't want to see it rebooted. The show had a rich life that would just get confused and possibly cheapened by starting over from the beginning and making it different. As an alternative, can somebody finally make that Independence Day show? THAT's the real Stargate-like show we need.

Reboot would fail hard...im a huge fan and want a continuation...we need the fate of destiny as well as sg1 and sg atlantis teams to merge in a series and movie...momoa is big now so ronin as to be apart of this...Id like to see a big problem...descension...ancients who are bad or messed with the fate of the universw by using thier powers too much and some who start a war with sgc and earth and create new sentient weapons like how they created the wraith and replicators...those who think humans are the cause of the descending somehow and want to eradicate them...as far as other new alien villians id like to see an interdimensional race maybe from the 4th dimension who use geometric weapons...like altering an area of space from 3d into 2d and flatten everything...who can create perfect mirrors down to the atom and can use protons that unfold into giant weapons like anti tech suppressors that envelop earth to stop thier advancing...its actually based on real science... It would be awesome to see an interdimensional stargate... Hopefully writers to good otherwise itll fail hard
