Plot inconsistency - The shield is supposed to let slower objects through so the replicators should have got through.

Apophis was not seen again until Baal killed him in the alternate timeline when Teal'c was serving as Baal's first prime. I prefer Apophis look in the alternate reality when the Asgard beam him up after he invades the SGA

Not true, he's also in the alternate timeline of moebius

@@boo453 Thanks, I forgot about that episode. Teal'c had to kill the alternate Daniel after Apophis implanted a Goa'uld inside him. The alternate Sam & Jack got together after time traveling back to Egypt. They ship got sot up while trying to escape from Apophis because they did not know the ship had a cloaking device, they were sure annoyed they did not include that detail on the tape!

I'll tell you what's creepy. On Small Victories, Thor hinted that the Replicators are so strong that it suggests there's someone else out there,more advanced than the Asgard. Probably just the Ancients.

@Hoopermazing I agree, but in the context of the "Replicators", they have the capability to absorb energy, which in this case, the "Goa'uld" only use weapons that fire concentrated bolts of heat and light (or a beam) which the replicators can absorb. This would mean the technologically advanced "Goa'uld" have ineffective means to defeat the replicators. I'd go into detail about the mechanisms of replicators, but I don't think it's very relevant.

I thought slow moving objects could pass through a Goa'uld personal shield. Is it just because it looks better this way or did Apophis have a better shield developed?
@nevermore72852 жыл бұрын
Either that, it was actually some defense of the ship and not him, or because the Replicators eat energy they have so much in them it still triggers the shields for the same reason the Staff blasts would theoretically.
@Jason_Wilhelm2 жыл бұрын
Actually the personal shield has a adjustable nob on it to modify the settings however if he did that he would have both a limited air supply and zero mobility. Since the power of the ribbon device is kinetic based and not plasma based it is possible that the shield could temporarily blocked replicators.
@Hoopermazing13 жыл бұрын
@boo453 1. the technology is supposed to be Alien and highly advanced, which for us would be futuristic. 2. the "replicators' look like something from a 1940s British scifi movie.

Dont forget what Thor said to Samantha Carter, the asguard are so advanced that they feel they cant think outside the box to defeat the replicators they need dum primative idea's to save them. because the replicators while yes extremely advanced themselves werent designed with primative weaponry in mind. as all the advanced races generally used energy based weapons.

@AlexSDU To be even more precise, the Pegasus Replicators aren't actually Replicators. They're Asurans, "Replicators" is just a nickname given their similarities to the Human form Milky Way ones which were encountered first. There probably is an in-universe connection between the two, but it's never been revealed. My theories are; Reece was Asuran/made by an Ancient with Knowledge of them, The Replicators acquired knowledge about the Asurans somehow, it's a massive coincidence they're similar.
@BlackLiger7883 жыл бұрын
Reece was made by an ancient, the asuran replicators were made by an ancient. That's the connection. Like so many bits of ancient tech just left lying around

@DamienZshadow oh Anubis was a great one as well, however i would have liked it if the show kept one villain around. as the show is now there is always a bigger villain following the big villain. Ra-Apophis-Anubis-Ori it was too Power Rangers that way :P would have been nice if Apophis remained, perhaps fought Anubis and the Ori as well teaming up with Earth (for his own survival off course) and besides if you kill Ra and Apophis in basically the same way it gets a bit repetitive .

@DamienZshadow oh yeah this is true, go check out the Stargate wiki page or google ''Stargate Extinction'' or the other title, go too Gateworld or anything Stargate they should have the info. i did like Universe sure, i do get why people didn't like it. but it was what made Stargate still around. without a TV show on TV no studio is going to risk making movies, the end of Universe means the end of the Franchise i am afraid. or at least as we knew it. Stargate 2 and 3 has also been hinted.

@MorganOfTheAncients You do realize that none of that gibberish that you wrote refers to anything that exists, right? My comments were in reference the the appearance of antiquated looking mechanical devices that look like something out of a Jules Verne novel, and not imaginary technologies lifted from Star Trek. My point, since you clearly didn't get it, is that there would be no visible moving parts and servos whirring on something derived from a technology that advanced.
@TheAngryAsianAnimations4 жыл бұрын
What I don't understand. How come those replicators are crawling over his shield? I mean, the shield doesn't stop objects that are moving slow enough, hence things like an arrow or a dart can pass through it. Well those replicators are moving faster than an arrow.

@sinister0077 I saw it once or twice. I like Richard Dean Anderson, but the show was so hokey, along the lines of the similarly cornball Babylon 5, that I couldn't stomach it. As to these things, my point was that an super technologically advanced civilization would can those kinds of steam-punk-esque clockwork machines. Everything would be on the molecular, if not sub-atomic, scale.
