When Daniel embarrassing admitted that he teaches ESL and Sam admits she works at a dead end job with a loser boss, i never laughed so hard. Amazing how altered timelines can really change someone's destiny.

They look like they were having the time of their lives. Of course that could probably be said about every day they showed up for work but this, this was something special.

I like how O'Neill knows that the only reason there are 3 of them is that they wanted to take him by force if he refused. He started the boat without warning them and "escaped" before they switched from being nice to using force.

I'd say it looks more like the same actress playing two very different roles, thereby proving that she actually is an actress worth the name and not like some "actresses" (and "actors") who just behave like themselves in various scenarios.

The most unrealistic part about this is not the time travel but that they managed to charge a 5.000 year old camera battery. Why would they even do that? It's a lot easier to just plug in a cable.

No wonder the camera ran out of battery. So many dramatic pauses by that Daniel Jackson on the recording.

The one thing I didn't like about this is how some of the changes seem unrealistic. Sam's in particular. O'Neil would have retired - sure, and Daniel would still have been humiliated after his conference where he discussed how pyramids were landing platforms - but he would probably still be working in his field, just on the fringes with no normal funding sources, just the conspiracy theory crowds. But Sam - even without the gate, she is still a genius, still would have been in the Air force - but without the gate, probably would have been in NASA too. Hers is where the change is the most immersion breaking.

Had they not done so, the Daedalus would still be hopping from system to system, searching for the expedition's alpha site, idly wondering just why the Wraith were busying themselves hauling the Atlantis wreckage out of the water.

Sorry, SG production consultants/production staff. Total tech failure on a childish level. NO ion based electrolytic cell technology could have even a dormant 5000 year lifespan. Besides, you would not need to resuscitate such a decayed battery. You would simply attach a modern battery or power supply in it's place. Way easy.
@Ragitsu2 жыл бұрын
...did you miss the part where the camera was placed in a stasis jar? Stasis = time is effectively frozen.
@ReddwarfIV2 жыл бұрын
They said it was a vacuum sealed canopic jar. The same thing the ancient Egyptians out pharoah bits in. It wasn't a stasis device.

@@ReddwarfIV "Other than needing the battery charged, Daniel's video camera is fully functional when it's uncovered in the alternate timeline five thousand years after he stashed it at the site of the dig. Possibly justified, however, since it was kept in a Goa'uld canopic jar, which have previously been shown to keep a symbiote alive indefinitely so long as it remains intact."

One thing though, in the normal version Daniel started out just as nerdy as the guy in the this episode. This choice of fashion might have been a little better, but other than that, the gul was an ultra nerd. What is mysterious is how Daniel went from nerd in the Stargate movie, to elite special ops team member material in the tv series. He might not have been the toughest member, but he fit right in.
