I'm not a farmer but I live near dairy, horticulture and chicken farmers who are in the same situation and to understand the fear they live in on day to day basis not knowing what outcome they will be in future!!!! And yet funding is wasted elsewhere, makes no sense at all with this current government who's in charge really......

Want you have six months storage when your talking figures like over 200 K it’s a. Tremendous lot of money. Basically they don’t want to know about proper farmers these days anyway Rob good luck for the future and Stephen great seeing you again. 😊

The death of a thousand slashes for farming, thanks to the govt's adherence to Agenda 2030 (control and, as mad as it sounds, ultimately, depopulation - look at the roots of the policies for evidence of that last claim). in the short term the capital outlays needed also suit the financiers.

If you want to keep stock you need to collect the slurry, simple. I can't believe there's still farms out there with no storage. It's been talked about for decades. I'm not sure why governments need to pay for it. His issue is with the person who owns the land.
@richardmatthews330411 ай бұрын
It's not that simple is it. It all depends how long the tenancy is for and how much the rent is. Why would the landowner want to spend £250000 on a slurry store, the only way he can do that is by raising the rent to the tennant, the rent would need to go up by at least 30,000 a year to pay for it. The real problem is economy of scale he had plenty of storage for 80 cows but because of greedy supermarkets a family can't make a good living out of 80 cows and need to spread costs over extra cows, the consumer needs to pay extra for the milk then the milk sales would pay for the slurry store
@DaveG792011 ай бұрын
@@richardmatthews3304 It really is that simple, it's not the taxpayers fault he doesn't own the farm and wants to milk more cows. The Landlord doesn't even care or they would help. Expanding costs hundreds of thousands on other things too, that are bought without thinking but people think they can get away with no storage and the government should pay if not. If it's not financially viable he should do something else. Plenty of others can comply with the regulations without handouts.
