Man this is a great video! I ordered my SV this weekend, and now I'm on the market for an inverted generator, this was a great video for perspective!

Nice to see the side by side comparison of a smaller gen and a big one. I went with the Genmax5500 and it’s charging a percent a minute or more at a very reasonable volume. Glad I went that route vs a small one that struggles a bit.

Thank you! We went with the 6000 mainly because it was the same weight but also $300 cheaper

As an FYI it not very accurate to be charging at different percentages of charge due to the way Lithium Chargers. Lithium, when they are at a low SOC will accept a charge much faster with the last 10 % taking longest. Think of it as the Ions going into a parking lot, as they look for places and the parking lot become filled up it takes longer to find a place for the ions to park.

This is like the new YZ400. Going to change everything. I love gas bikes, but this thing is awesome. I don't get the hate, at all. The power and having it be quiet with traction control and almost no maintenance, I'm in. I ride a yz250x two stroke....

Aside from the warranty battery I had to do, we haven’t had to do much more than lube the chain and plug them in

Hey. Thanks for the great video. At what altitude are you at? I have a 2300watt ant it does not seem to charge my Varg up at 5280’ elevation. Surges and can’t gain a %. Thanks, Larry.

If i charge with the ryoby in 240 is posible ?? And what will be tha charging faster ?? Thanks
@ShanePinneyКүн бұрын
It is not possible without other equipment. The ryobi is already charging as fast as possible

Check your 220V Cord Caps ...Stark did not cut off enough insulation off the wires...Charging mine on the Genny at 241 Volts...about 1% per minute... last 20% may take longer.

I heard there were some issues. Don’t see any issues on our side.

Just curious but is the testing off cause one bike is charged higher then the other at start? I thought lithium batteries charge fast @ low % and start to get slower the higher %
@ShanePinney8 ай бұрын
We have a time lapse video that is a bit better. They don’t slow down on charging until around 90%

Did I see a Mako360? Do you have a product number or do you know a KTM model equivalent to look at that matches the Varg mounting locations?
@ShanePinney7 ай бұрын
I don’t have the model number, but the ktm bar clamps that have the rubber cones transfer over. XC gear sells the metal cones to replace them

Hi Shane, thanks for video, pretty informative. Do you know if invertor generator is mandatory to charge the Varg ??
@ShanePinney9 ай бұрын
It is strongly recommended for charging due to the pure sign wave. I don’t know what the consequences would be but i would not risk it on my bikes

On a predator 3500 does it make any difference in charging with large 3 prong 30 amp vs standard 3 prong 20 amp receptacles? Just got my bike with Stark’s 110 adapter. I think the predator will be adequate for track charging/ topping up between practice motos.
@ShanePinney4 ай бұрын
The 110 charging should pull around 14amps at full speed. So there shouldn’t be any major issues
@swank1718 ай бұрын
Is that the stark adapter? I can’t charge mine cause the adapter I have doesn’t work. Badass bike just sitting dead. Sweet.
@ShanePinney8 ай бұрын
I’ve heard of some people having issues with adapters. Common issue seems to be on the wiring either going to the charger or the 220v head.
@swank1718 ай бұрын
@@ShanePinney there is a wiring diagram to make the same adapter alta used. I did this and it works perfect. The bridged 220 adapter was the problem. The charger is a L14 30A plug but doesn’t use the bridged connector. It’s wired ground neutral and power only. Electric dirt riders forum is a great spot to be if you have or want one of these bikes….OG alta owners who are so ahead of the times and help across the board on all these e bikes.

Nice. How do you like your EE full wrap handguards? I'm a Cycra guy but heard that they don't fit so I was going to go with the EE ones you have.

@CDGMxRetreat9 ай бұрын
You need to listen to Elons analogy of charging a battery, it takes alot longer for a lithium battery to charge its last 20% than its first 80%.
@ShanePinney9 ай бұрын
Thanks, I agree but my main goal for all of this was real world at the track use. I doubt many people are going to realistically wait that whole half hour to get their bike from 90% to 100

So,4 hours of running a gas generator so you can "save the planet" and ride your ebike for less than half that time. Gee,lets get rid of the track noise and bring it to the parking/pit area. 🖕

@TheDreamweaver182 ай бұрын
The point of the bike is superior performance over a gas combustion engine. At best, it’s just ironic it’s charged by a gas motor.
