If changing mapping is seen as advantageous and a benefit why would your first reaction be to ban that? Can't gas bikes handle a little innovation?
@cbogolo Жыл бұрын
@@B2C2007 gas bikes can't add or subtract 20 horsepower at the click of a button. If a 450 has like 55 horsepower why would they let an electric bike use 80? They won't even let 300cc strokes race
@B2C2007 Жыл бұрын
@@cbogolo gas bikes could easily be set to lose 20hp at the touch of a button and have maps that are switchable during that race. Your point about power is a different one to my original one: the Stark IS an 80hp bike from the factory and ICE bikes may not be able to compete with that. To clarify my point is that the new variables that electric bikes present should not be artificially hamstrung by current gas bikes. The racing will of course need to be fair and that may not be possible by arbitrarily limiting these new type of bikes.

It'll be interesting to see how the market responds to increasingly positive news about the Varg. You clearly can't buy anything to compete with 80hp yet but is it worth KTM doubling down on ICE tech that young people won't want to buy in future or turn up with an e-contender?

If you ran it at 80hp all the time it would kill the overall life of the battery faster because of high temperatures, not to mention less run time while you're actually riding. 50-60hp would be ideal.
@motoblast3574 Жыл бұрын
Right it would drain the battery but most likely you wouldn’t be on the full power if that makes sense. I rode it at 80hp and had to literally just ride with less throttle everywhere to keep it straight

To be fair they stopped most r&d on 2 strokes like 4 years before they started pushing 4 strokes and the first few years they sucked so thats like 7 years of no updated 2 stroke development when 4 strokes took over and that was mainly pushed by environmentalists because the American factories were in California were they put limitations on the usage of 2 stroke motors in the mid to late 90's
@motoblast3574 Жыл бұрын
Right! I still love my 2 strokes as well.
@cbogolo Жыл бұрын
@@motoblast3574 2 strokes had 30 years of innovation and slowed in progression compared to the years put into 4 strokes when they came out so the ama or whoever needs to make adjustments. If they want real competitive racing that sells more bike which seems like their objective than why not allow bigger cc 2 strokes race like they did when they jumped from 400 and 426 to 450 cc 4 strokes. Bring in 300cc 2 strokes and 150's. Some guys coming from amateurs might flourish on a 2 stroke because of their style.

EVERY review I've seen people say how amazing the suspension was. Why are the other manufactures behind? Like Tesla did...
@actionsportsanchor7073 Жыл бұрын
I’m certain the suspension feels sooo good in large part on a Stark because of the motor and how it delivers its power. Even on a 450 with the same components (YZ450), it’s amazing the difference in suspension feel if you just stop revving it hard. Shift up a gear, let the torque do the work and it’s amazing how much more calm and compliant the suspension instantly feels.

I think they should be allowed to race un-restricted the same as 4-strokes came into racing. At first 4-strokes sucked and were allowed double the engine size. Then after years of refinement look at 4 strokes today. Let the electric bikes have that same chance. We the riders will benefit.

Taking away shifting with a clutch is massively dumbing down motocross alone. I'm not totally opposed to EV but set them aside from gas powered, clutch racing. Most likely EV will fall into place with SX, arena cross, and arena hard enduro. MX would come along with so many changes that gas would be quickly obsolete. We don't need to do that. Really it doesn't make sense to run EV with gas. Keep them separate. Gas isn't going to beat these bikes once they are refined enough. Why should they take over completely?? The whole "better for the environment" excuse is a total crock of shit! It's totally crazy that even 2 strokes were attacked for that excuse. Cars shouldn't even ne yhe subject of environmental hazard either. All the massive industries that burn literally hundreds of millions of combined gallons a day should be where EV is first being a substitute.
