Yes it has a hot-swappable battery set up video. Sorry I didn't see this question. The battery stays on the bike stand and you lift the front end up and off. Very easy. As an engineer I am so absolutely impressed by this. The fact that you can compete with existing manufacturers at a somewhat similar price point is incredible. I'm convinced that the mx and enduro market is the first one to properly adopt electric bikes. And everything about your bike is equal or better than existing bikes and on an absolutely new platform. Obviously you weren't bound by fuel tanks and combustion engines, however I'm sure that battery packs and electric motors and ESCs bring their own challenges with them. But it's absolutely obvious that you have understood the art and craftsmanship that is engineering, it is visible in many small details, but also know how to market and sell your bikes. The apperance is one such example. It's obviously a big part of motorcycles and your bike looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm pretty sure if you continue your work like this and deliver on your promises (which it does seem like you will do), you will quickly make yourself a recognised brand name and be able to expand your lineup to other areas of motorcycles. And it is hard in this day and age to start up a new company in such an established market. I personally am most interested in a proper enduro version that includes a headlight, other than that you probably wouldn't need to change much. Second on my whishlist would be road legality in europe, but that's a whole other can of worms. However I'm sure you would still make it look awesome, even with indicators and a number plate. Also I'm interested in what you would work on after this is done and production has ramped up. If you are hiring or do internships, hit me up hahaha. Well, you probably don't read KZbin comments anyway... Still, best Regards

Don’t get me wrong, I do believe eBikes are the future, but I really struggle with this announcement: 80HP, can handle MXGP intensity, 6 hours of trail riding… superlatives here and there. BUT: They say the bike has 6kWh battery capacity and that you can ride trails for 6 hours with it. That means you may only have an average power output of 1000W while riding. A hair dryer needs more power than this. Math sucks 😉. But hey, marketing is everything these days. That’s probably the reason only their CEO (MBA) and their communication manager talk about the technical details and no engineer. Important questions are left unanswered, like is the battery included in the price and what about the charger? Can you swap batteries between motos? But at least we learn that it has a 24 carrat gold logo on it. My personal highlight at 11:05: "weights only 110kg fully charged"... I ride trails and i got a chance to ride an Alta for a couple of hours, it would tractor like nothing i had ever ridden. It was heavy as lead but would climb anything i pointed it at and i suk. I hope an 18 inch rear tire and kickstand will be made available. If the 6 hour run time for trail riding holds true this will be my next bike. And let me just say "I will not miss mixing gas, changing oil, adjusting carbs, cleaning air filters, replacing head pipes, packing mufflers, replacing radiators, rebuilding the top end, replacing seals in the bottom end, replacing starters, replacing clutches, carrying 14lbs of tools, buying VP gas and the number one thing i will not miss is falling over in a rock garden 1,000 times and at the crest of a difficult hill climb because the bike died at that critical split second as if to say sorry 'bout your luck loser." So for the love of all that is Holy, give me an 18' rear wheel and a kickstand because i want, need and have been waiting for this bike. My nutz could definitely use a long awaited break.

This is close but You missed a mandatory element. Electric bikes must incorporate a clutch. You can spool energy in a flywheel and release it with the clutch in ways that are not possible with the throttle alone. Additionally, some situations it's easier to pull in a little clutch than it is to roll back the wrist.
@jacobnewtron96352 жыл бұрын
i think you may not understand the torque that electric motors have. i encourage you to try an electric......anything ..... dont get me wrong im an I.C.E. guy but .... but a smart soldier has to know the enemy and damn electric shit is gettn better every year

@@jacobnewtron9635 I've ridden a couple good electric bikes. In fact, I bought my daughter a Kuberg Trials Hero. It's 3000w and pulls me around just fine. The torque is great on electric but the lack of a manual clutch is where they fall short. I'm sure it's fine for MX or flowy trails but the moment you get into a technical situation a manual clutch is a requirement. Like I stated above, you can release and remove energy in ways not possible with your wrist alone.

There's a lot of amazing engineering that went into this so many cool little details and especially the phone. I have a 2018 Alta mxr which essentially is the same exact battery as what's in this. Here's what I have a problem with this they are totally not telling the truth with battery life and range. If I ride my Alta in map 2 on single track I get about 17 miles tops and that's even being conservative with my riding. If I put it in map three or four and ride all out I probably wouldn't even get 10 miles. They said nothing in this video about having a swappable battery and that would be the only thing I would care about and if it's not that's very disappointing.
@romteb2 жыл бұрын
Yep the range claims are troublesome, this is a 6kwh pack, meaning it can deliver 6kw for an hour, let's say a moto gp heat is 40 minutes, the battery can deliver an average power of around 8kw for this duration, there is no way the average power output of a 450 during a gp heat is 8kw.
@JoshStreetDesign2 жыл бұрын
@@romteb agreed. Alta did the same thing on the range claims with their bike. They said it would get 8 hours on the trails and there's no way that's even in the realm of being close to true. Only if you rode it like 1 to 5 mph down a paved road haha.
@zacharysturgeon93722 жыл бұрын
@@romteb You got me thinking, so I went down a rabbit hole. Electric motors have high efficiency, somewhere in the high 90s percentage-wise, but for math sake we'll call it 100%. Gasoline motors are in the high 20s, low-mid 30s at absolute best; the rest is shed as heat. A gallon of gas according to Google has ~33kWh of energy. Multiply that by a rough 1/3 to simulate efficiency loss and that's about 11kWh per gallon utilized. At 6kWh, the battery has 54% the deliverable energy capacity of a gallon of gas. So yeah, in summary: also skeptical. Wish like hell they've figured something magical out though.
@diygreasemonkey2012 жыл бұрын
@@romteb 8kw = 11hp , doubt a 450 averages that over a 40 min moto. You are right, 6kwh will not last a full moto at race speeds.

There is a lot of debate on the safety concerning such low noise levels. Stark, i think it would be good for your team to come up with a solution. It doesn't need to make as much noise as a roaring 450 but it does need something so it can be heard a couple hundred meters away on trails so hikers and people on horses etc can hear us coming? Suggest a sound generated which is mapped to motor speed and emits a frequency which is not annoying or overly loud, but alerts people to it's presence? This feature should be incorporated in to all e-bikes. Lead the way Stark!

Really hoping dealers get behind this, as one big concern with any new brand is whether you can get parts locally when you need them. I get that you can always go to the manufacturer when there isn't a dealer locally, but that usually means a longer wait. Besides that, I for one am not that knowledgeable when it comes to electric vehicles, and this bike would be more attractive if it also came with a dealer network capable of handling technical support issues. I'm ready to jump in, but I'd like to talk to my dealer about this bike before pulling the trigger. My dealer sold the Alta and still sell the KTM Freeride-e. I'm convinced other brands will bring EVs to market in the coming years, but why wait? Considering everything this company has done in terms of innovation, patents, etc., I can't see the other brands improving on what this bike has to offer for a while. I hope the ride reviews on the bike will be positive ... one thing mentioned already is whether this bike will overheat with prolonged hard riding. Stark says no, but I'd like to hear that from an unbiased source. Other than that, I really can't find anything to complain about.
