Have any of you thought about how maybe all of their non-parody shows might be in the same world, not just the Hatchetfield series. What if Chorn's species is the reason Hatchetfield is stuck in a timeloop and when humanity breaks the loop, Chorn's species teaches them the key to interplanetary travel.

Something that is a problem with this theory that Chorn says there is no God, but in Starship they discovered God and then killed him. Based on McNamara's line in Black Friday about preventing a god from being born and some lines in Chorn's monologue, Chorn was in a lower rank than the grand council and went rogue. Chorn didn't know the existence of Wiggly because she didn't have the authorization to. Later in time when testing once again Wiggly sees an opportunity to come free from the black and white and be born. I believe in Nerdy Prudes Must Die Wiggly will he born and then he will be killed. Chorn will then grant them the gift for passing the test and shortly after humans will invent robots and the robot wars will begin. Also I have no idea where Me and My Dick would fit into this.

I get why you used the "Cruella" part in Twisted. And let's be honest - the whole song is gold. But for me personaly there are two other favourite parts: - begining (I've gone against my sultan - the highest act of treason...) - ending (Let them twist my words, let the people scorn me. Am I the only one that feels like Black Friday has been their weakest show next to ANI? Like the production value is spectacular but it feels like they were going for a lot more serious story lines and themes which doesn't play to their strengths. Like it either felt super corny (unintentionally), or just completely ruins the immersion. I think Starkid shows are at their best when they focus on comedic musicals with some serious parts. With Black Friday I feel like they were doing a serious musical with some comedic parts and it fell really flat for me. Also while the music is all gorgeous from a production standpoint, none of it is memorable. In every other show I'll get at least one catchy song stuck in my head right after the first watch, but I immediately forgot every song in Black Friday the moment I watched it. The whole show is just... super forgettable for me. What does everyone else think?

I totally agree with you. I think it really tried to say some things, but could have gone through a little more workshopping to make it tighter. I think there were too many ballad style songs, which is fine, but they all kinda sounded the same? Like they're great quality, but I would enjoy them more in moderation? And there really wasn't a breakout number either. I feel like every other starkid show has a clearer central narrative and emotional theme, but Black Friday went everywhere from capitalism is bad to dealing with PTSD to cult formation and it was just a lot. I also totally agree with the cheesy point. I can't listen to Monsters and Men without cringing a little bit. Anyways that was a total ramble, but I hope you feel validated 💛
