Honestly Hideous Creatures is tied for my favourite along with Kick It Up a Notch, Get Back Up, and Status Quo, but that is just how much I love the songs. Plus, they are all so different from each other. (Status Quo my brain has claimed as a gay song as well.)

I agree with you on a couple of them here! Especially the tgwdlm ranking. Let it out is absolutely brilliant. Jon’s acting alone sells it as he portrays the Jekyll/Hyde dynamic pretty damn well. His vocals are also really nice and the song just isn’t the same on the album. I mean obviously I love show stopping number but let it out Is just something else. It’s a master piece and the guitar or what ever it is in the background doing scales? *chefs kiss*

TBH, I would’ve put Torture Tango as an equal to One Step Ahead, because music-wise, it was really good. It combines Curt’s, and DMA’s leitmotifs cleverly (“To show you the horror of staying alive”/“Doesn’t even matter if I killed my best friend.”) and it mirrors the first scene of Owen in disguise torturing Curt while a Mary Kate Wiles character sings in a platform.

I love it because its very clearly portraying the nazis in an evil light, as it should be. Its showing how ridiculous the logic of the nazis were, and curt even calls out the singers by saying "wht the fuck is wrong with you people". Its not a celebration of nazis, its very obviosuly a criticism of them and their ideoligies. Also, brian rosenthal is a jew and that makes it even better because he literally is getting to mock those who oppressed his ancestors. And some of the best social criticisms are done through comedy and satire.

granger danger will always be my favorite song from avpm and my favorite starkid song in general. a have a story: I had already watched avpm and avps around 2 years ago because I am a huge potterhead. then we were in a pandemic and I decided to rewatch avpm. I loved the song granger danger. I had loved it 2 years ago too. I wanted to listen to that song so I looked up granger danger. and the video from their tour came on. Lauren Lopez was now Lauren and not Draco. and she was singing about being in love with hermione, and she was now a girl. so my gay heart was very happy. then she said the line "she is the hottest girl I've ever seen". and in that video during that line she is so, I don't even have words. and at that moment I fell in love with Lauren Lopez. because of that song. then I finished watching the video. and I noticed that there were so many people there. and I really liked avpm but I didn't understand why they would have so so so many people for just a tour. so I looked them up. and I have been obsessed ever since. and that is how Granger Danger started my love for Lauren Lopez and Starkid and why it is and always will be my favorite Starkid song. thank you for coming to my ted talk.

honestly from a musical point of view it is so hard to sing pauls part of let it out-- he doesntsing until the end of the musical, so even if he warms up pre-show and during intermission then it wont still be lasting by the time you actually have to sing. paul is a guy and his first note he ever sings is a *C5*, like that is one of the most impressive things ive ever seen in a musical. in let it out alone there are so many register changes (jeff blim loves a bit of falsetto), and especially for a male going from chest to falsetto in pretty quick succession, its a miracle he managed it lol. this is why i respect jon matteson above anything else and why let it out is one of my favourite starkid songs
