Ann Merc I absolutely agree. IMHO it's hard to write a good musical finale. I think Starkid does better than most professional musicals - think AVPSY and Twisted - but Inevitable is even better. It manages to both thrill me and scare me. And Emma's 4th wall break during the credits is just perfect. The only better one is Black Friday's "What If Tomorrow Comes", which in my opinion blows away anything Starkid has done before.

TGWDLM is number 1 for me. Everyone's acting, singing, and dancing is incredible in this one (especially Lauren), Jon gets to sing most of the soundtrack, and its both hilarious and terrifying. Perfect ending imo.

Personally, I feel like Days Of Summer should be much higher. It beautifully sums up the mix of emotions you get at the end of a school year; happiness that it’s over, but a little bit of sadness that you get from missing your friends. It just hits a little different than the other endings for me.

What If Tomorrow Comes is definitely nr 1 in my opinion. It's chilling, it's beautiful, the melodies and general composition of the song is so mucially interesting and my music nerd is happy, it fits the show so well, the callbacks to the ticking clock, the ambiguous open ending, i mean.. I love it so much. Though i am glad HMB gets the recognition it deserves.

Also I feel like the acting in What If Tomorrow Comes is very overlooked. Kendall not singing the whole show and then taking the lead makes you focus in on it all, her increasingly panicked repetition of the title throughout the song, ending in her interrupting the countdown and then not finishing the phrase because it's over. The other characters milling about almost aimlessly as they realise although they've stopped Wiggly, he's still won. The coming together in acceptance as they countdown until their death. (Sorry for the long response, I'm a theater/English nerd)

Okay 1) I find it interesting how little overlap there is between this and the openings list in terms of the ranks? 2) I can't believe how many of these songs I'd completely forgotten about, even those of shows that I love. I guess this is making me realise that I don't generally care for Starkid closing numbers? I mean not that they're bad, per se, they're just not all that memorable. Except at the same time, for some reason I'm just really into all the Very Potter Musical -verse finales? And a couple of others. But I'm suddenly glad I only did a top 6 for the opening numbers because I found exactly 6 closing numbers that I liked enough to rank. xD 6. idk which song title to put here (A Very Potter Senior Year) - I had to actually go watch the entire ending to this show to figure out where I thought the closing number starts lol. And tbh I still don't know. But like, I know this is purely sentimental but the entire ending of this show is just so emotional. Okay the performance was clearly not very well rehearsed and the songs are reprises of songs from the previous shows, but it feels very right and it works. Whether I count everything from Everything Ends onwards or even just the "bonus" clip, idek, either way it works for me. It probably wouldn't if I didn't love the first two shows so much but I do. 5. Inevitable (The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals) - It's a nice medley of some really great songs and the dissonance between the cheerful tone and the bleakness of the ending is always great stuff. 4. Finale (A Very Potter Musical) - Look it's cute and emotional and it's a great and satisfying end for this classic show. It's all that I need. 3. Super Friends (Holy Musical B@man) - It's just so cute, uplifting, catchy, memorable and heartwarming. That's all honestly. Pretty much the same as above but I'm putting it higher because I like that it's not *just* a reprise (not that I have anything against ending with a reprise). 2. Days of Summer/Goin' Back to Hogwards (A Very Potter Sequel) - I just love this song so much and it makes me tear up every time. It's a cheesy one but it works for me. Also it's the perfect Last Day Of School song. And of course the GBtH reprise is always good, there's never been a GBtH reprise I didn't absolutely love. 1. What If Tomorrow Comes (Black Friday) - What else can I say but CHILLS Also oh my god Kendall's voice is absolutely amazing. I didn't even particularly care for this show in all honesty but I can't deny that this is an absolutely amazing closing number.

I think part of it is that some of the synth filled soundtrack rubs me the wrong way, but I attribute most of it to the fact that I think it and Starship(which I also am not a big fan of) are results of Starkids growing pains as they go from a scrappy college theatre troupe to a full on theatre company.

I knew inevitable was gonna be ranked high and I was pleasantly surprised that super friends was number one. HMB is my favorite Starkid musical and TGWDLM is my favorite musical so it made me pretty happy to see them ranked so highly
