It's not that no one will care, it's that theaters full of people wouldn't pay hundreds of dollars a seat for months straight if people knew the shows would eventually be online. (This is not my viewpoint, but the supposed viewpoint of those involved with Broadway and Off Broadway productions... or plays in general in many cases).
@dangreen38685 жыл бұрын

@brch25 жыл бұрын
@@dangreen3868 Starkid tickets aren't hundreds of dollars per seat. And I should have clarified... that is the theaters'/production companies' reasoning I was stating (not that they don't think people would care, but they don't think they'd sell as many tickets at such high prices if they put their shows up for viewing regularly). There is also the fact that when it comes to putting plays up in traditional media, the rules regarding profit/pay and other factors are different, and makes it more complicated. But... several musicals (Newsies, Shrek, and Legally Blonde being three big ones) have done it in recent years, and hopefully a trend will form where more Broadway and Off Broadway productions will start showing their plays, at least after they're over.

I just realized that the disney “villains” singing in “Twisted” were not randomly chosen. They each represent one of jafar’s motivations and show him that you can’t always have what you want without hurting other people. Ursula represents his desire to be respected by the people and to be a fair ruler. Scar represents his desire for equality between people from all backgrounds. Gaston represents his love for his wife and his desire to save her. Maleficent represents his desire to fit in amongst the people and the court. Captain hook represents his frustration caused by the Princess’ lack of responsibility. Huge props to the people that wrote this musical. This level of depth is just incredible(unless i’m over-interpreting).

1:14:06 Everyone's talking about the tigerfucker joke (rightfully so, its hysterical) but honesty this whole musical number is underrated. Its so fucking funny, but it also like.. unironically slaps. the way he sings "let them laugh, thats just fine, but the last laugh will be mine" is so satisfying to me, and near the end where theyre all singing "they'll remember achmeeeeed" is literally SO GOOD. like unironically, even without the jokes. also achmed is just generally the funniest character ever devised, the way the actor plays him is absolutely hilarious, and even though he's kind of an annoying asshole this song somehow makes him (and his guards) really endearing. overall extremely underrated. This is something I haven't seen anybody mention: the songs are amazing how they give off the same vibe and have similar musical components to the songs from Aladdin but they're not just changed lyrics that Disney could sue for. It's amazing how the songs feel just like the originals without being exactly the same
